OverClocking Q6600 on Asus P5E3 Premium/Wifi@N Intel X48

Hi everybody at OC3D...

I am new to overclocking. I would to like to overclocking my pc.

My System.

1.Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM.

2.Asus P5E3 Premium/Wifi@N Intel X48(Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 MB.

3.Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler

4.Coolermaster RC-100 Cosmos S "Sport" Silent Full Tower Case.

5.Corsair 2GB(2x1GB) DDR3 DHX (Dual-path heat xchange) Memory -

TWIN3X2048-1333C9DHX G / PC3-10666 1333MHz.

6.BFG GeForce 8800GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express).

Please could somebody post the setting I will have to make to the BIOS to Overclocking my pc and what software I will need to test my pc for a stable system.

what speed do you want your cpu to go? also whats the VID of your cpu you can find this out from a program called real temp, cause the lower it is the better idea you have of how good at overclockin it will be, i think the first and easiest is to just go into your bios and change the fsb from 266 to 334 then you will also have to turn off speedstep and that will be you good for 3.0ghz and u shouldnt really have to change anything, but to get 3.2 you might have up the voltages to the chip slightly i can get mines stable at 3.2ghz on 1.280v from the stock 1.2625v

as fort stability testing you have a lot of programs for doing this, prime 95, occt, orthos, pc mark vantage, 3dmark05 and 06 and intel burn test

as for temps you dont want it to go over 60 degrees celsius
