I want to build a new PC

]New to the site and new to building a computer from nothing. In 2005 I used to own a Dell XPS15 which I played Counter Strike and the Source variant. I currently have a MacBook Pro 15in late 2010 model which I was playing WOW on and was doing good untill what i believe my HD crashed. So when I return home from my trip overseas I plan on building a dedicated gaming machine :]
I also had a few questions on some parts of my build, not sure if I should ask them here or on a subforum.
I plan on ordering parts around Feb or Mar..

On to my question.
Whats the difference between the CPU coolers H80i and H105 and H100i? I see a lot of people just getting the H105 so I picked it due to popularity.
What are the differences in SSD? They all seem have the same ratings...
Also I am looking for a Mobo that has at least 4 fans controls on the board since i plan on using 3 reg fans and one for the water cooler, and also is the board I listed good? I was also thinking of getting the ASRock Fatal1ty Z97M Killer as well.
And my last and biggest concern is which Mobo has a great UI for doing some overclocking of the CPU and GPU...

CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
CPU Cooler Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard Asus MAXIMUS VII GENE Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
Storage Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" SSD
Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW ACX 2.0
Case Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower
Power Supply Corsair RM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)
Wireless Network Adapter Asus PCE-N53 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1

EDIT: changed mobo/CPU cooler/PSU

Moved to new build advice. Also, please stick to the regular fonts to keep things easy to read for our regulars :)

Welcome to OC3D!

Consider getting an Asus or MSI for your board and GPU as they will overclock your cpu better and im not a fan of current EVGA cards and you may want to increase the size of your ssd the 120 will fill up pretty quick the rest all sounds ok

Basically, the higher the number, the better the cooling (temperature wise).

Different SSDs run at different speeds, offer better reliability, etc. The one you chose will perform well and probably not fail any time soon, so good choice.

Try and stick with ASUS and MSI boards, as they are generally best in terms of performance, reliability, and ability to overclock. The Asus Hero or the MSI Gaming 5 are great choices for a little overclocking. Both ASUS and MSI have decent overclocking UIs, but my personal preference is that of ASUS.

Basically the H80i is an single slim rad, 120mm, with Corsair Link integrated into it.

H105 is an slightly ticker rad and with 2 x 140mm fans on it, if I'm not completely out of line here?... or was it 2x120's?, anyone please correct me on this one.

H100i is a 240mm slim rad, with Corsair Link integrated into it. Like the H80i, only difference here is this is double the radiator size.

And personally, I think that the pump on the H100i (/H80i?) looks better than on the H105, specially since you can change the LED colour on it. But that's just my personal preference though.

Hope this helped! :)

The H105 and H100i have the same size fans the 105 has a thicker rad whilst the 100i has Corsair link

Asrock is fine nowadays, so you don't need to change it out although personally I don't like the looks of the one you've chosen. Presumably it'll not have any stupid features or wacky LAN drivers...

EVGA have got a lot of stick for the various cock ups they've done with their cards recently so I'd avoid them. Asus or MSI would be better (and probably cheaper) bets. I'd also swap out the PSU for something lower voltage and then use the difference to get a bigger SSD. Apart from that I'd say its a good build :).

The main reason i picked the evga ftw card is because the card will fit in the case as opposed to the strix (which I wanted) or the twinfrozr. I don't know if i can OC a reference gpu with no water cooling so i chose the evga since it has cooling on it.

I also changed my mobo to the asus maximus vii gene. Now im debating on if i should just get a reference card or not.. i just wanted to fututre proof my build with OC

You can OC with any card.

I changed the CPU cooler and mobo out to Asus MAXIMUS VII GENE Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard and Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

I also didn't know you can OC factory cards either lol. I've never played around with PC's much before.

Still not sure what kinda PSU I need, on http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9BGwHx It says I says my estimated wattage is 342 but I also read that the 970 usually takes more then the 145 wats that it says it uses so I overshot it assuming more is better..

A good 550W/600W PSU will be plenty enough for you ;)

The Enermax Platimax 600W would be a good option if you are willing to pay a price premium for the 80+ Plat efficiency

You could always go for the good old RM600, reliable and all corsair PSU goodness

If i read correctly for I can plug in the two fans with the water cooler into the motor with a splitter and the other 3 I can plug in to the mobo... that is if I read everything correctly lol

I'm not entirely sure how I wanna set up the fans, as I know the rad with go in the front with the 2 fans and then I have 3 fans at my disposal, and I might put 1 output in the back and 1 output up top, then 1 input in the PSU side (if I can manage my cables good enough)

Nice looking plan you have dude, and welcome to the forums.

Thank you, I am defiantly wanting to future proof as much as I can.

EDIT: On a side note; is this setup good for Photoshop picture editing? My wife does photography and I "might" let her use it lol but maybe not if I cannot put saftey locks on a seperate log in for her hahahaha
