Overclocking CPU

Maxx

New member
Hello, was watching a review on a mobo and tom mentioned about the voltage of the cpu being on auto ect, which made me think and check.

my setup
asus p67 sabertooth
i7 2600k @4.5ghz
corsair vengance @ 1923mhz
corsair ax 750
h70 corsair cooler

I have the cpu clocked at 4.5ghz via the bios "oc Tuner" which leave the cpu voltage on "offset" mode. from 1.15-1.36. is this a good thing? my temps are good. max 68 on prime for 1 hr. my ram is on 1.5 stable.

Thanks

How did you get the ram to 1923mhz? In the same video Tom mentioned also that with 1155 you shouldn't oc the ram over the baseclock but only on this steps: 1333, 1600, 1866....
I wouldn't use these auto-oc-features, just set the multi to 45 and the voltage to manual and to 1.35v and then test if it's stable, my 2500k does 4.5ghz @ 1.35v, I'm not sure what the max voltage for sb chips is but 1.35v is fine.
For the ram: just set it to the rated spec.
