Overclocking 7950 (help needed)

I recently purchased a XFX 7950 DD and for the life of me I can not seem to change the voltage so I am stuck with a low overclock.

In MSI Afterburner, Sapphire TriXX and CCC I can change the "Power control settings / power limit" +/- 20% but manual mV is greyed out.

Any help configuring MSI Afterburner would be greatly appreciated.

Right click your Afterburner and open file location. There's a file called MSIAfterburner which you can open in Notepad. Open it up, and replace

UnofficialOverclockingEULA =
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 0

with

UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1

Close and save the file and try Afterburner once more.

Yeah I'd already tried that also. The only thing I ever managed was Sapphire TriXX 4.1 which let me go to 1130mV which isn't enough.

I've tried all what you have said up to now, more help is greatfully appreciated as I'd love to get 1100/1600. 1200/1700 would be awesome but I'd have to of been lucky with the card.

I'll be back online tomorrow.

Thanks for your help up to now :)

xfx have certainly gone backward the last few years. Far out to voltage lock their premo DD line. Very poor indeed.

Ah man, looks like I'll have to learn from my mistakes and stick with 1050/1450. I could possibly get 1100/1500 on 1.13v whilst gaming but as far as 3DMark 11 goes, peak is 1050/1450.

I was thinking of crossfiring this in March as well :(

S'pose I can hold out until 3rd 1/4 of 2013 for my new build, I'll do it right next time ^_^

Edit: I just found out they made 2 versions, one with a single DVI port and one with 2 DVI ports. The newer one with 2 DVI ports is the one with locked voltage and has 8pin/6pin power instead of the original 2x6pin. After finding this out I went to Aria.co.uk where I bought my card to check which one they are offering, they advertise the one with a single DVI with unlocked voltages. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see what they can do.
