1. Open MSI after Burner
2. put the power to +20%
3. alter core/mem until it either crashes or i get artifacts ?

If so, i can get my 7950 to 1145 Core, 1350 mem, from the standard setting od 960/1100, thats with a voltage of 1.280 up from 1.250.

Its an MSI 7950 Boost edition.

I have been using Heaven 4.0 this seams to be as high as i can push things before i get litle flashes and blocking on the chimneys as they smoke :) This equals about 15-18 more FPS over standard and over on both max actual and minimum, with minimum been more like 10 fps extra over a few runs.

that overclock is quite good, you will need to teat on several benchmarks and games to confirm stability.

3dmark, 3dmark 11 and 3dmark Vantage are great (all on steam now). 3dmark vantage i find brilliant for stability testing, it also seems to be TTLs favourite too.

what version of the card do you have and what are your temps like?

Between 69-72 fan funs at about 52-55 % quite noisy, its sit in a Bitfenix prodigy with the vented side panel and i have the H100i cooler so theres no excess CPU heat inside the case.

I thought about using Vantage but its DX10 test is it not ? i just thought it would be less stressfull than a DX11 test.

Any further upping of the voltage or either/or the Mem/core and i get blockies and sparkles running heaven :)

Vantage is a DX10 benchmark, but i have found overclocks to be unstable on it and run everywhere else fine. It's a good worst case scenario IMHO.

i do still run all the other benchmarks and some games for a proper validation though.

Your temps look great atm, if your overclock is stable in other benchmarks and games the you are good to go.
