I was hoping that the original topic of the thread would be forgotten, meaning I'd have a greater chance of winning.

As it's 3:30, i'm going to try and get some sleep.

/offtopic

This competition ass-pwns some butt faces. Good luck, that is all.

Right... I'm sure I'm not the only person here thinking this, but...this computer can't be given away to someone with only a few posts. That's just ludicrous (sp). I for one think the competition should be split, have a few comps going but have a post count limit in order to enter.. I know that If I had less than 20 post counts and walked away with this case I'd be laughing as the posty knocked my door.

Its just me thinking out loud, that's all guys. Its nice to have new people about but I thoroughly believe that becoming a true member means dedication and time, and also giving something back to the community you are in.

Good luck anyway guys... And daza...why are you exempt dude??? Just go mug tom... XD

I don't think there's anyone (apart from newly registered's) that would disagree with that. Unfortunately most manufacturers don't give away prizes like this out of the goodness of their hearts. They want to get maximum exposure and some return on their investment, which is understandable really and means we have to make it open to all.

When picking the winner I want to make it as fair as possible - but obviously 'fair' in terms of giving every entrant an equal chance is not what some of the OC3D regulars would consider to be 'fair'. If i had £5,000 going spare i'd probably snap up 10 GTX295's and run a mini competition among the 50 most active members (staff included) as I'd like to reward at least some of them for their efforts, but unfortunately that's just not possible at the moment.

However, I would like to see some suggestions for a 'member reward' system though, so if anyone has any ideas let's get a thread started and we can see whats possible.

Great idea Jim...I like to be helpful...like most on here...and to be rewarded for that contribution would be great...but considering Karma's been a ***** to me the beginning of the year I'm hoping for one of 2 things a)either to win this comp in a reverse of fortunes or b) to be mauled to death in a freak accident involving a tiger and a bear (unlikely in manchester I know) :D ...good luck to everyone though..

Welcome to OC3D, even if it is only for the competition. Although, we'd like to think that you'd stick around and become a regular of our friendly forum

I disagree mate. I've been around here for more than a year and i have like 5 posts. I made one thread the whole time and it got 0 responses. the forums are kinda dead, but i still keep coming to this site for the excellent reviews.

If limit the competition by any way, it should be by registration date and not post count, and have newly regged members join only the later lotteries.

Lurkers are people too. :)

I'm inclined to agree with that, though i can understand those that post less can be seen as making less of a contribution

I frequent quite a few forums, only one of which is use for chatting as it's the busiest, the rest im just an occasional poster and more of a reader (unless something interesting comes along i feel like commenting on)

a quick question...

(it's not made clear)

if you win this competition would you receive the system as parts or would you receive it built?

In previous comps you had the choice get it either way. I gather TinyTim (edit:heehee tiny tim, TinyTom even) would be the guy who puts it together, so you'd have no worries about shoddy build quality.

Also, the loop would no doubt be empty, so you would have to fill and bleed it yourself.

Haha you should check more often then :') I read the whole new posts section at least three times a day.

EDIT: post no. 200 of this thread already btw
