Overclock is just not working right

Well, ive tried the same setup as b4, new setups, pv's recommended setup and they all provide the same superpi error...on only one of the cores "Not Convergent in SQR05"

Ram timings are currently at 5-5-5-12 but have tried 5-5-5-15. Memory voltage has been tried at 2.0v but now 2.15v has the same problem. Vcore has been tried at 1.375 and 1.4v, same problem. Divider is currently 1:1, 533mhz mode but 800mhz mode also has the same effect. FSB 333 atm but it always gives the same error. NB, SB, ICH and FSB voltage has been tried with various voltages (none of them max) and at auto...same problem :( Ive disabled all the stuff on the nb apart from Vanderpool (blanked out  ), execute disable bit (or something) and another thing that I was told i needed.

Are you running the 2 instances of superpi from their own folder? Or is it doing it with just 1 instance?

Extracted one, renamed and set affinity onto desktop. Extracted the other one, renamed it and set affinity to the other core. One core works fine whereas the other produces the error

I get exactly the same thing mate. I've got a feeling that Dual SPI don't play nice.

Try a dual prime or orthos instead.

Orthos blend priority 9 should get you straightened out, I feel much better about using Orthos results as a good indication of stability rather than SPi.

I second that. I can get my rig SPI stable at 3.78ghz but put that under any kind of real world stress such as games, f@h, even messing around on photoshop and I get desktop freezes.

If you can pass OCCT, dual Prime/Orthos then your rig is stable.

Admittedly, I did run my rig at 3.5 for some months on settings that were not orthos stable and never had one issue during anything, be it gaming or f@h 24/7 etc...

Wot temps am i hoping to be below during orthos testing?

High, after 5 min you can take that temp as your Max Load temp for your clock. At 1.4v (im guessing its a C2D) will be in the 65-70 range, obviously that depends on your cooling.

52 after 15 minutes testing as Frag suggested. So wots the max my cpu can go safely? Just so i can judge my maximum oc

You on water?

Mine used to hit 70 when i had my GPU in the loop and was fine. It sounds high but should be fine for peak temp

On water or air max temp you should let your CPU go to under 100% load is 70*C.

Volts on air, some people will go to 1.6v to cpu but on air for 24/7 I'd say 1.5v max...

Are you on 333*9? You can probably squeeze a bit more out ;)
