Our Hobby Kinda sucks..

I can vouch for how expensive rc cars are, the thing that I like about computers is that there is a lot to learn an do. Also they rarely break, my dad says the rc in rc cars stands for repair constantly.

i have a p4 2.8 before HT was even thought of. dont think my motherboard will allow me to overclock. but, i might give it a go tonight.

Me?

Forget this, I would have sworn PV hadn't quoted anyone.
LOL no you were right mate. I hadn't quoted anyone initially, until I realised you had gotten a post in before me.

Its cool, what threw me off was it doesn't say the post was edited.

Hehe, if you edit it quick enough, you don't get the 'edited by **** @ ****pm' message underneath. I think you have around 30 seconds :D

yeah thats the reason i am no longer into pc modding and such, I now am more into my music cause it's probably going to get me somewhere, so far I've played two gigs with my band and we won $600 at a Battle of the Bands

But PCs like somone, I think V said is more of a passion for us =] That's why I'd never spend this much money on like anything else. COmputers is a skill too, helps you not get scammed by people @ pcworld and you can fix your own stuff now. =]

Hi...Ayd here.... (must get own log in)

yup PC modding, OC'ing is expensive (yes I still have to pay for stuff even though I work here) but so are some of my other hobbies and to be honest the PC hobby probably works out cheapest. eg -

I have a 1990 Renault 5 GtTurbo that stands me at 26k

I have a vast 1980's Skateboard collection that stands me at around 10 - 15k

Wife - well you do the math :D

Ok seems a lot but spread over the years it's not as huge amount as you'd expect, I think the trouble with PC modding and Overclocking is new parts are released pretty much every day and obviously everyone wants the newest and the best....hence trying to keep up can be costly - probably why I sit middle of the road on my components, if they break they're not too expensive to replace plus even if I did have all the best stuff it doesn't mean I'd be the best, there'd probably be some 11 year old kid out there on a 375pound Dell fragging me anyway :D

@Ayd lol @ the R5T costs :D

not a daily driver but modded to hell and I love it...shame it's in bits again, being improved, again, and 300 miles away at my Mums until I can sort out a garage down here :D

I see what u meen about comps costing alot to keep up with the latest shizle, that was one of the main reasons i baught a console, (PS1 in those days). But if like me u mainly use ur comp for games, then spendin cash on a graphics card and new processer etc every maybe 2 yrs, reli isnt that bad.
