When i first read the title i was thinking someone had bought a cpu with a wrong socket, or a AMD cpu and Intel mobo... i was yelling at the monitor "WHAT A N00000B"

As ruthless suggested go with ic diamond. Artic Cooling MX-4 is meant to be quite good too.

I like using MX-3 / MX-4, very easy to apply and clean off as well as lowering temps a few degrees.
Also glad to hear everything got sorted out, Amazon is a brilliant e-seller.

I sent the item back and have now been granted a refund. Apparently it can take up to 10 business days, but it normally takes 3-4 business days
. They covered the postage and are refunding in full.
