hey all, just got he stepping code for my opty and from what i been seeing they seem to hit between the 2.6-2.8ghz region, which personally i dont think is to bad,

what are the stock speeds of the 170's?

so even a 600 - 800 mhz increase is good

were did you buy it from... i just picked up my 170 from newegg, i got CCBBE 0615 and its running 3.0ghz @ 1.425v's

im going to find out its max at 1.475 and run it at that tho tonight

i didnt buy it i got given it by a friend i really want a 3GHZ chip ive never had one in my life and at one point i spent £350 on top of thje range custom W/C ans still idnt suceed

yeah i always wanted a 3.0ghz chip to... and i finally got one... after the core2duo wipes it on the floor

but i still say a huge gain in performance, and im supper happy since i cant afford a whole new setup

average between 2.6 - 2.8 ghz the person i got it off had it at 2.6 on stock cooler

oh i bet! i know exactly how your feel. a while ago i got a emachine computer (s939 amd 3500+) with integrated grfx and could hardly play any games, finaly saved up for my first nice grfx card (x800xt)... this must be kinda like that but better
