Opteron 144 Motherboard

Just bought an Opteron 144 that I intend to overclock with a Gigabyte GH-PDU21-MF (G-Power Cooler Pro) can any body recommend a Motherboard Memory combination on a budget?

the system will never go Sli so that’s not important.

Asrock dual sata2 - very gd for price, and excellent for price once modded

biostar t-force 6100 (m-atx)

I've personally tried the biostar and its a great lil board, only prob is the totally **** onboard sound

and imma give the Asrock a shot this week probably, so ill let you know how it goes

The ASrock is a great board TBH - excellent performance (above average overclocking) for the price. Volt modded its a great clocker too.

Never used the Biostar but if shigsy likes it, it's good enough for me.

Just got 1GB Gskill LE PC3200 will the ASrock board like these?



Any idea how far i will be able to overclock my Opty without volt modding the ASrock board?

If the board can give it 1.64V, past 3GHz Maybe slightly less if the VLDT cant be changed

OK changed a few things around and I've only got the Mobo to get for my sisters PC i now have about £80 left to spend what would you recommend for this price range??

I was thinking DFI LANPARTY UT NF3 ULTRA-D?

Also can anybody recommend this case

Ive got a few associates with that cases, and yer it comes highly recommended, but for the price perhaps look at these:

Lian li PC7/ PC60 if can afford

Coolermaster Centurion 530, this is the best, new ones are worse, Centurion 5 is good, these are all cheaper

Isnt the NF3 s754?

Friend has the case you linked to, money better spent on an antec SLK3700 believe they can be had dirt cheap and is practically identical internally. Infact the plastic on antec is deffinately better quality than thermaltake.
