Hi all,
I need an opinion on a EVGA GTX 660Ti FTW 3072mb (03G-P4-3668-KR).
I plan to use the MSI Z77A-GD65 with a i7 3770 with 2 - 24" Samsung led monitors. Will this card work with the 3770's onboard graphics or is it overkill?
I'm still in the planning stages , haven't bought anything yet besides the 2 monitors.
I might be adding a 3rd monitor.

Thanks in advance for any info on this card.

Yes mate it will work fine, if you use the software VIRTU MVP you will be able to use them together for some neat little features (go check it out)

If you need any more info feel free to ask me as im using MVP quite successfully

if hes planning on running 2 possibly 3 monitors then it will help quite a bit personally I wouldn't recommend anything below 2gb for a single 1920x1080 monitor due to new games having things such as high res texture packs and other taxing features

Thanks for the feedback all . Would you recommend using a GTX 670 2 gb card instead? It's a bit more $ , but if it will work better I'll consider it. The case I plan on using is a Corsair 650D, so I should have enough air flow. Should I also consider a non-reference card? The 2 monitors I have are 24" 1920x1080, the 3rd one I have is an old 19" lcd 1440x900 ( all Samsung). Currently I'm just using one of the 24" and the 19" on a EVGA GTX 550 ti 2gb SC.

Its a great card however I would go for the 670 as its about 30 quid more and the 3gb is slightly unnecessary as you are not running 3 monitors.

Thanks for the info Liam , If I went with 3 1920x1080 monitors would a EVGA GTX 670 2gb reference card still work for gaming? I'm hoping that when I spend $400-$500 for a card it will last for 2-3 years.
Sorry , I really don't know alot about video cards but I am trying to learn.

Hey rossi94, when you say "more power" do you mean 2 or more video cards? I'm starting to wonder if the 3770k isn't the best way to go. Maybe 2600k or 2700k instead , with 2 vc's.

He means more video card power - but it's actually not entirely true...

I run triple screens at 5760x1080 on one GTX 670, and agreed to run max settings on EVERYTHING you'll probably need SLI 670s, but the only game I've had to turn my settings down on has been BF3. And even on that, my single 670 maxes 60FPS at medium settings.

I'd personally see how you got on with 1 670. If you find the performance lacking, then buy another.

What games do you play?

If you want to play BF3 on ultra on 3 FullHD screens and > 60 fps you'll need at least a 680 SLI .. I play BF 3 on 1920x1080 max settings and have ~70 fps while watching a movie on my second screen (1680x1050).

I'd be happy enough playing it with 670 SLI tbh. The performance difference between 680 and 670 is minimal. In SLI, 670s wouldn't be far off the 680 scores at all.

May as well just save money and sacrifice 5 fps

But you can't play on max settings or?

I have a single 670?

I'm saying you'd be close to getting 60 FPS with 670 SLI on ultra settings.

Triple screen gaming is overrated anyway. The two side screens don't display properly in BF3, CoD stretches a 1080p screen across 3 monitors making it unplayable...
The only games where it actually makes sense is racing games.

I know, I play on 1920x1080 and have a second screen more than that you won't able to handle anyway .. com center + gaming ..:)

What are you on about?

I have a single 670, running triple screens at 1080p (5760x1080) and it runs pretty much everything at 60 FPS, apart from graphically intense games like BF3 where I have to drop settings to medium, and then it runs fine at 60FPS.

He wants to know if it still works .. yes but not on max .. sorry thought you had sli ..

Thanks for the input guys . jamesriley94 , what brand and model 670 do you use? Racing games is what I'd really like to get in to ( NFS type games and maybe iRacing in the future) . I think I need to do more research on video cards and learn more.
