Opinions on first build? Fan advice also

So this is my first time actually posting on this forum, was just wondering if i could get some advice on the build i currently intend to go ahead with :)

Build:
Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP
Intel i7 4770K
Corsair Vengeance 16gb 4x4 (1600MHz, 9-9-9-24)
EVGA GTX 660 2gb FTW Edition (maybe the 760 if it comes out soon enough)
OCZ ZS Series 650w PSU 80+ Bronze
Western Digital 1Tb HDD
All of this inside of a Cooler Master HAF XB

About the fans, the case I would be getting comes with 2 120mm stock fans for the front of the case which i intended to keep to cut costs, that leaves space for 4 more fans in the form of a 200mm, 120mm and 2x80mm. For the 120mm i intended to go with some form of Gentle Typhoon, and the two 80mm fans just some cheap artic ones. The main issue I am having is finding a good black 200mm fan as the only I really have any faith in is the Cooler Master MegaFlow Black, which I cannot find anywhere in the UK? :mad:

Any advice, help or comments are greatly appreciated, thanks. :)
 
The case is excellent. Good choice!

for the 80mm fans, it is important to get quiet ones, in my experience these are the best. I've replaced my old antec 80mm fan (suprisingly powerful but made my pc sound like a server :C ) with this:

for the 200mm fan, this is good for what you want, you can get a blue one instead if you want:

Also, I'd get the i5 and use the spare cash to go for a SSD. Trust me, SSDs are really, really good and not worth overlooking.

-edit- Are you planning on getting a CPU cooler?
 
What do you want to use your build for? For gaming you'd be better off with an i5 4670k and spend the rest on a better GPU. If you're not very much into gaming, this set-up is fine.

Buy a decent power supply by Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, NZXT, etc. OCZ is not the most reliable brand. Another thing to consider is to get a 2x8GB RAM, so you have the ability to expand more easily later on.

cheers people just wondering then would the i5 4670K be good enough when it comes to encoding and rendering and the like? because i would be gaming but also probably making youtube videos.

Also about the RAM, i wanted the 4 sticks mainly for appearance if im honest, do i really need space for additional RAM when 16Gb is already overkill??

Yeah i forgot to mention the CPU Cooler, the BeQuiet Shadow Rock Pro SR1 comes free with the motherboard

If you're only doing light rendering every so often then you are best of saving some money and going for the i5 4670K. If you're going to be rendering videos every day and putting your system under a lot of load then you will have to go for the i7 4770k.

16GB Ram is fine. If i were you though i would get two 8 GB sticks because then in the future if you find 16GB isn't cutting it any more then you can always upgrade your RAM.

The CPU cooler is fine and actually looks really nice in my opinion. They are also really easy and simple to install. So no complex mounting systems to fiddle about with for hours.

Although OCZ are good and I have one of their power supplies. They aren't the highest recommended Maybe go with a corsair TX, HX, AX, or maybe even the GS800. They are all really good.

I would also try and squeeze some sort of SSD in there. Even if its a last gen one. Like a 830 series from samsung. I recomend any around the 128GB mark as thats enough space for a good amount of programs and your OS. You can then use you mechanical HDD as storage for all of your music, games and videos ETC.

I saw that 200mm fan thats the one i was talking about, but i wanted the fan in black which i can only find in the US :(
 
If you're going to do youtube videos, you need an ssd as well as an HDD. It makes things much more easy :).
 
right i have found a SanDisk 128gb SSD for like £65, i know it helps actually load everything up quicker but is that the actual only noticeable benefit?

Also i kind of want the 200m Bitfenix Spectre Pro Black fan, i know they're really good but someone said that they are not good mounted horizontally is this true? because it would be my top exhaust.

That SSD is fine yea. Not only does it help you boot up faster, open programs faster, shutdown faster, transfer data faster. It also helps you with overall better system responsiveness. I also still recommend that you go with 2x8GB sticks.

Other than that its fine.
 
Yeah your rig is set :D. I'd wait the for the 760 in my opinion but I won't blame you if you can't wait ;P.

Also, a warning about the bitfenix fan, people complain that the HAF XB only really supporting 200mm Coolermaster fans due to something a bit odd about the mounting. I think there are a couple of guys on here who have the case and they can correct me if it isn't true. Otherwise, better safe than sorry.

As said before the only things i would change is the PSU to something like a corsair AX760, and i would also wait for the gtx760! :D
 
7950/760 would be the gpus to get for the performance they will offer. Don't know if prices have changed much but if not then this seems logical.
