Old Cartoons/childrens programmes

First non-WB cartoons I can recall are Kimba the White Lion (1970something) and Astro Boy in the early 1980s. Star Blazers, Battle of the Planets, Voltron. Awesome stuff that kept me well entertained after school.
Hmmm wonder if I can find Iscandar or the Argo in the Elite Dangerous galaxy??

Awesome stuff keep em coming :) here is Bagpuss

Along with He-Man and Mask were my must see tv growing up, nothing in the last 20 years comes anywhere close to the morality of these shows, immense storytelling

Aye when you listen to the theme from Jayce you can see how as kids we start on the path towards rock and decent music.

It was strange, first time I looked up the intro, I hadn't seen it in 20 something years, yet I remembered it frame for frame..

I miss good kids tv and cartoons, it's all rubbish compared to the stuff they put one when we were young.
I mean (various age range shows here but from memory) Thundercats, Racoons, Rescue Rangers, Jayce and the Wheeled warriors, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Attack of the killer tomatoes, Transformers, Dexter, Ren and Stimpey, Rocco's modern life, Boy meets world, Rainbow, Play days, Art Attack, Smart Art (or whatever it was called) rug rats.. the list goes on. There were life lessons in some of those shows. They genuinely affected the way I grew up and think even today.

100% agree dude, ive actually got most of these ready for the wee chap, but the problem is, noone his age will probably get to see those, not wanting him to be the odd one out, but the stuff thats scheduled on these days is total trash, but hes going to get them anyways.

To be fair, they're alot better than stuff from around 2008-2010. I quite like some of the stuff Cartoon Network has now. Not to mention they do reruns of Ren and Stimpy (obviously after the watershed..) now.

Speaking of which, I forgot how messed up it was.
