[OFFICIAL] OC3D Overclockers Club

Hey there. So recently I have discovered that my MSI 970A-G46 motherboard is HORRIBLY suited to do anything apart from just barely run an FX-8350 CPU at stock speeds, let alone try anything in the realm of overclocking. To that end, I AM still actively overclocking the balls out of my GTX 560 in the meantime. Here's my latest results on the stock cooler, no voltage changes. Whatcha think?

It's certainly not breaking any world records but I think the old gal has even more in her, especially with an ASIC score of 79.9%. Also the memory is set back to 1600 Mhz on my present rig because of the poor voltage delivery capabilities of my motherboard at the moment. I keep the known good overclocked settings in my sig so I don't forget what they were x-P.

Looks decent to me mate! :)

You're in mate, welcome to the club! :D
Please also check the first post for useful applications and our steam group (not really gaming, but just fun to have a group full of OC'ers) :)

Doing some overclocking today

My lack of an intake fan causes the poor thing to reach temps everyone would feel uncomfortable with. Fan go!

Is that your daily rig.....????
I'm afraid so :(
It indeed died not too long ago, kept getting BSODs. When I took it apart and then built it again, the issues were gone :p
I've had that thing since my 7th birthday (I'm 16 now), and I know I need a new rig, but PCs are expensive, and I only have €600 now. And my parents don't want me to spend all of my money, they want me to at least keep €200 on my bank account. And I don't want to purchase something I'm not 100% behind, so that leaves me to just keep saving up (and maybe even selling my trusty old PS3) :p

1. Sell PS3
2. Buy [image]
3. Buy some cheap used PCI-E 16x card off Marktplaats for €10-15,-
4. Save up for proper GPU

Tempting! :p
Could also kill The Antique Rig, start stalking my parents until they give me moneyz and after selling my ps3, I could get a proper GPU at the same time :D
I think I'm getting the FX 6300 though, should be plenty and it's about €40 cheaper

That's very true :p
I'm thinking of just killing my current PC, that way I'll have to get something new.
And I'm going to put my PS3 on 'marktplaats'. They go for about €200 with games and 1 controller :p

That's €100,- more than I had expected tbh :p Plus the 40 you save on on the CPU you'll have about 150 for a decent GPU :)

drop the WD blue, add 2TB seagate barracuda, make sure he doesn't do anything with the rig AMD sucks at and it's fine.

your mom knows how it's done. buying a PC part by part is a stupid idea.

^^ good point, but lets get back on topic, overclocking :D
I'll try a mini suicide run tomorrow (2.1GHz) :D
it'll probably be fine, knowing that the thing maintained a 2GHz OC with OCCT, linpack, for 4 hours.
Just want the CPU-Z validation :p
