OCZ Vertex 3 Dead

Bought a OCZ Vertex 3 60GB from Scan for my new build, very fast and reasonably priced.

Built the computer, installed the OS, put some applications on it and gamed for 3 hours or so, turned off the computer and the next morning no SSD detected in the BIOS.

Changed the drive through all my SATA III ports and changed the power cable before contacting Scan who said this had happened about 100 times since it's release about 5 days ago on their website.

In other words the drive is sh*t... please avoid it and stick to Intel drives, they might not be as fast, but they are fantastically reliable.

Bad luck dude

OCZ SSD's are good though there must just be problems with some of the vertex 3's.

you know, the OCZ ssds are some of the best around, for price to performance ratios they eat the intel SSD's and you just got unlucky so calm down, you never get a defective motherboard and say oh gigabyte are crap and unreliable do you? calm down

OCZ have made good ssd's and operate mainly in the ssd market now however if such a large amount of the drives are doing this i doubt only Lexxikonn got unlucky. Hopefully they let you change the ssd mate.

Was a bit angry earlier... Maybe I was a bit harsh on OCZ, I'm sure they do make some good products, but I'm not sure this is one of them.

Have replaced it with a Crucial SSD of comparable size and (almost) speed. Hopefully it will last more than 24 hours!

But I mean, 100+ returns in 6 days... that's gotta say something to OCZ...

yeah but then look at the mess with intel and their recent p67 chipset... If you buy cutting edge stuff you gotta expect a few glitches.

i was planing on geting one of thos ssd's but i ges i will go with another one to be on the safe side
