Here's a quick article on 4800 Platinum from the ever-present OCZ.

It looks like TCCD is being phased out by them, but these TCC5 modules look to be pretty sweet!!

Before we look at the results I would like to mention a few things. Overall, I was not able to reach 300 MHz 1:1. This is due to my motherboard giving out at such extreme speeds. I tried lowering the multiplier from the default of 9 to 8, but did not have any better luck. CPU temperatures were also not a factor here. The maximum stable speed I could get out of the RAM running 1:1 was 295 MHz, just shy of the 300 MHz mark. With a better overclocking board, such as the DFI NF4, I am confident I could hit well over 300 MHz 1:1 with these modules.

Nice. Looks like MSI don't quite cut it against DFI (on a side note). Well you would be happy buying these modules, getting 1T up to 280MHz aint bad!

I ran each benchmark below at default 200 MHz @ 2-2-2-5 1T (9 x 200 = 1800 MHz), 280 MHz @ 2.5-4-4-10 1T (9 x 280 = 2520 MHz), and 295 MHz 2.5-4-4-10 2T (9 x 295 = 2655 MHz). CPU voltage for the benchmarks was set at 1.65 and memory voltage was set to 2.85 (max for my board). Again, with another board, I could pump up to 3.0 volts to the memory and still be under warranty.

So there - good!

Worth noting:
Also, remember that running these modules at such high speeds will more than likely require some type of active cooling to keep the modules nice and cool.

Awww man....do I have to hook up some active cooling on my RAM too? :(

Inconclusion:

The only downside of this PC-4800 kit is the price. As of writing, this kit sells for $261.97. Bottom line; if you are looking for some of the fastest RAM around to eliminate memory as a bottleneck in your overclock, this is the kit for you. OCIA.net awards the OCZ EL Platinum PC-4800 Dual Channel DDR Kit our seal of approval.

This is a nice article to take a look at Overclock Intelligence Agency
