Oculus Rift teardown reveals a hardware cost of around $200

I'm no manufacturing expert but that doesn't seem like a great profit margin compared to other products?

I'm thinking of getting a Rift around Christmas, I borrowed a work mates DK2 for a while and had some really good fun with it in Alien Isolation which was heart attack inducing as it's such a different experience compared to playing on a monitor so when the Alien is nearby it really does get the adrenaline pumping as it's incredibly immersive.

Elite Dangerous although I'm quite bad at the game was immense, I love the game already but with VR it was on a whole other level, Looking around your cabin or in the buggy when you land was fantastic.
