OCUK & Scan ad fails

Saw this ad from OCUK about a week ago, was going to post it then, but never got round to it:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/LP/intel_ivye.php

First off, they're saying Ivy-E is '4th Gen'?
Then further down they say the 4960X is a '4 Core Desktop Processor'.

Tbh, I'm surprised as that's now been up over a week and no one's fixed it yet...

But, then I noticed a similar thing with Scan:

http://www.scan.co.uk/shops/intel/extreme

Again says '4th Gen'
In both sections, they talk about the 4820k, and the 4930k, even under the 'extreme' section. They don't mention the 4960x at all in the ad, even though there's a massive 'X' on the ad, and they also tick the box for '15MB cache'.

From reading that, it looks like Scan think the 4930k is the extreme version.

Just amusing how retailers can't seem to understand a product they're selling (even though the things they've got wrong were the same in Sandy-E too).

You'd have thought someone would have proof read these adverts.

It looks to me like the big 'K' is really for Haswell as it lists the spec for the 4770k (1600MHz, 8MB cache..) and the 'X' is for IB-E as it lists the 'ultimate' of IB-E with the 4960X specs (1866, 15MB cache....)

I guess the confusion about 4th gen come from Intel's ambiguous product numbering.

If they stuck in a few 'up to's' and got rid of the 'K' it would make sense.

Hmm, I'm not so sure...

The page is on 'extreme' - as in, Ivybridge-Extreme. There's no mention of Haswell whatsoever - it only lists the 4820k and 4930k in the text in 'K'.

I get what you're saying, it looks as if they've just listed the specs of the 4770k, but it is an Ivy-E advert - nothing to do with Haswell.
