OC3D Welcomes the Redline Redux Folding Team

All set up - getting an amazing 7,000 ppd from my laptop (I know, don't be jealous now) and 31,000 from my 3770k - i'll try my best to keep the ol'PC on, but my laptop's doing it's very best to imitate a '747 at present, so I fear that shall have to be turned off.

A query; it seems strange that the bigadv thingymabob is only available on Ubuntu (ok, fair enough) and OSX (wait, wut?). Any rumours on if and when the Windows version will released?

Thankyou to you all

Edit: upon some further research, it would seem as though my 3770k would not be up for the bigadv task

nevermind that, then.

It's 16t now

I am having problems with the client. It seems to be cra shing on me about every 12 hours or so. Is there any error logs that I can look at to find out why it is crashing. Is there only one client to use? I am using the latest one 7.1.52. Kind of frustrating that it keeps crashing on me.

Matt

I'm still on good ol' version 2, which has been working awesomely (touch wood), with little to no issues at all. Why don't you guys go back to V2 and see if that helps? Or have you already tried that?

Already given V2 a shot, for some reason, my smp client wont fold

the CPU activity shows 100% but nothing happens in terms of % folded

Could the problem you guys are having be clock related? Have you tried backing off to stock clocks to see if you still have problems.

I am running a mixture of V7 and GPU Tracker on both my machines (CPU -> V7, GPUs -> Tracker) and I hardly have any issues.

Haven't tried to drop the clocks. Will try leaving it for a day or so to see if it sorts itself out.

I personally like to make sure my clocks are rock solid while trying to push beyond moderate overclocks. So in general, if I have issues wih software that not everyone is having I tend to back off to stock clocks to see if the issue goes away.

When I am folding my 'second' GTX 480 only runs at around 50% while the 'first' GTX 480 runs at 99%?

Be sure configuration is right, Gpu 0 and Gpu 1, also the 2nd card could be reverting to 2D clocks. Usually a restart will get both back to 3D clocks.

right new rig is up and functional and want to get back into the whole folding with redline, i just can't remember where how to get started lol

was on amd now on intel / nvidia if that helps lol

right i have that and installed it, put my details and 98860 into the client, but when i try to setup to use my gpu it states

"on client : local, no more gpu's"

but so far as i can see its only using the cpu, (SMP mode) is this due to the internal graphics and not sensing the 670gtx?

everything is standard install bar entering my donor name, team number and my passkey.

i even tried disabling the igp to try and force it to detect the nvidia gpu but no dice lol

It might be becase you are using a kelper graphics card. I don't have any experience with them, hopefully someone will see this and let you know if there is something extra you need to do to get folding running on the Nvidia 6xx graphics card series.
