OC3D Welcomes the Redline Redux Folding Team

Hey all,First post coming in from New Zealand, thats right the the dirty colony's have the internet's now :P

I hope this is the right place to put this
Brand new to folding and im not at my computer alot so why not put it to good use.
I would like to ask is there anything i can do to optimise my rig to increase its folding performance.
Windows 7 64 bit
4670k @ 4.2 1.15v average of around 65c
280x toxic 1150mhz clock 1600 6400 mhz memory

Happy to push the cpu more as its not really breaking a sweat at the moment but gpu is going to stay where it is for now.
I have the latest drivers for all the things and i followed the guide SnW posted and popped in the advanced and beta (flags?)

also....the gpu may or may not be getting swapped for an asus dcu2 780, I have no idea if this is like mining where amd gpu is better suited to these tasks.
Cheers :D

Welcome to the team. Looks like you're all set up for folding.

AMD cards used to be pretty bad folders, but now they're on par/better than Nvidia cards.

Thanks for the reply, I think I will flag the cpu folding lol spent hours accumulating 2000 points and in the same time my gpu knocked out about 65000.
I suppose its one way to test a new overclock :D

Yeah, CPU PPD has been progressively getting worse to the point that it's not really worth it (in most situations). GPU PPD on the other hand is on the rise, especially with the core 17 WUs.

Im a total noob to folding, but I want to learn more about it. Can someone link me a guide to the basics of what it is, what you need, how you do it, etc. Thanks ;)

Just completed my first WU. I didn't receive any points, is this normal? Does it take some time to register of something?

Edit: got my points :)
