OC3D testing new review scoring system.

Hi Guys,

In addition to our normal award system we are thinking of implimenting the following scoring system for all future reviews.

Each product review will be rated based on its price, performance and looks. As areas such as performance are more important than looks, each area will carry its own percentage 'weight' as explained:

Performance = 70% of total score

Pricing = 20% of total score

Looks = 10% of total score

You can have a peek at what it will look like here.

Yes, this is definately good! Is their any way you can make the bars change colors according to the level? For example, if the bar is in the top 75% it's green, if it's 50-75% yellow, 25%-50% orange, and 0-25% red? Just something to give a bit more visual indication?

Excellent idea! (wish I thought about that)

and to XMS, I really like the 3 segments.:)

Hmm, its a good idea. But it might not work so well with everything. For example its not easy to measure the performance of a case as there are so many factors, and looks are often a decding factor.

just my 2p...

Thats what i thought initially - I was going to make Performance 'Purpose' instead.

However, even with a case, Performance can be applied to things such as:

Noise cancelling performance

Cooling performance

EDIT: I've also just applied a modified version to one of the reviews.

Woah! Having seen that animation thing im now all for it.

How about 'Performance/Purpose' in that heading?

Or interchange them where wichever is relevent? (prob more effort than its worth...)

/feels silly for not having the imagination to see it implimented...

XMS I really like the title "Best of Class" award.

Cheers :) You won't see that one very often. The OCZ is the first unit to ever recieve it on OC3D.

Once i've reviewed a couple more 1kw units I might be able to hand out one to those lot too :p

Most people wont play the animation, maybe put it on a loop or a start-when-moused-over?

I like this idea, the animation is great but it plays before I an scroll down far enough to see it.

I like the start on mouse over idea best mefinks.

I quite like the new animation :) Had to refresh the page to actually see it because it loaded too fast, so a mouse over would be a good idea as NoL and Frag said
