OC3D Fractal Design Case Club

Man now i really want to get one so for christmas i can expand on the loop:)

Edit: also do you think the pump is strong enough to support 2 rads? 1 being the h220 and the other a 240 60mm thick rad?

well cpu wise im going for a 3570k
mobo ive got a asus maximus 4 gene-z
ram 8 gb 2133
ssd not sure yet what ever i can get hold of lol
im thinking of getting a pair of 7870,s
psu i have a 600w ill have to see how much the gpu,s deside to pull
no dvd drive hate them things lol
i have one rad in the front 60mm 240 i will be fitting one in the roof aswell a 240 45mm rad so i have some room for the ram sticks
it should give me lots of cooling
ive just ordered two more fractal r2 fans thay are very good for what im after thay only put out 15 db of sound so odds are ill hear the pump more then the fans

Sounds great! What size of ssd are you thinking about getting, Maybe try to get a single 7970 instead of 2 7870s? Will save on a water block and that can be used later to get another 7970?:)

thanks mate im on the look out for a 250 gb ssd as i have a big raid setup to save all my downloads and so on yeah you may have a point there about 7970, only thing is that evryone is after 79 cards now so all the 78 cards have droped big time in cost have to say im not sure how well all the new cards compair to my pair of 6970,s tho ? i know thay are better power wise as thay dont need as much power well thats what ive been told anyway ?

I would definitely recommend a Samsung SSD. One of the most reliable ones on the market.

Yes they are faster, a 6970 is on par with a 7850 i believe, If you can find 2x 7870s cheaper than a 7970 then sure go for it, dont forget the 2 water will most likely make it more expensive then a single 7970 with a water block. Also check the 7870 block first to see if A) you like the aesthetics and b) actually decent full cover blocks. If you have a big raid then a 250gb ssd is perfect for an os and bunch of games to be honest.

Hey guys I just finished posting my first PC build and it so happens to be in the R4 which is an amazing case. I love it and I think that there are so many things you can do with it. And would it be possible for me to join this club since I do have a Fractal case :D

Thanks for letting me in and what did you think about the build I really would love some advice on what I did right and wrong since this is my first build. And since you have probably been doing this forever I would appreciate everyone's advice on what to do or not to do.

no real critisism, i see you found fractals placement of the 24-pin to be "agreeable"
NOT!
i and others have raised the issue of the 24-pin placement as being useless. even
the lower is "outta" place. id asked to be split-up into thirds instead of being "equal"
spaced. and we see where that gets us..

noice build.. enjoy!

I'm sure this must've been answered in many reviews, but for anyone that has the R4, what do you think of the cable management gromits? Do they give way easily like the R3?

My friend who has had both the R3 and R4 says the R4 has stronger ones that don't come out as easy.
