OC3D Fractal Design Case Club

That's almost what I want/will do :) but only over the motherboard, because I'll remove the bottom HDD cage, only when I'm rich enough, to get Z77 (or whatever CPU/chipset is newest at the time) board with i7 and watercool the hell out of my case :D

Loving my R4 ...

Not loving the phobya flexlight I got to light it up though

looks "monolithic" great choice.
yeah, its a choice thing on the LED lighting.. some are too bright, dull, flood..
but you'll find that right look!

doesnt have to be watercooled to nix the cages, unless you gotz them loaded with drives..
whip that side panel in there and show it off.. if you need to remod the panel, pop the 'glass out and recut.

I'll be posting som pitcures of my system when I get time for it and make it look good as well! :) Nice pictures people!

Arc Midi owner here.

Only have a picture of the front because my camera stinks and am currently doing some mods.

image-1_zpsd62e068e.jpg

My to do list:

-Get carbon fiber and wrap my PSU and the 5.25 bay
-Buy the 700 series when it comes out
-Get some NF-A14 FLX fans
-Make a window side panel with some smoked acrylic
-Sleeve or get PSU cable extensions

A lot of stuff to do on such an amazing case. Cannot wait!

welcome to the club.

you might wanna try to move the rear exhaust fan or roof fan to the lower
front fan spot. aids in more air intake and cooler interior temps for a stock fan. it'll help temporarily since your fan shopping..

applaude the vinyl wrap and window mods... and again welcome to the club.

Hello all. Short time reader, first time poster. After months of planning, researching, and saving, I finally got my first personal rig built. Here's the specs so far:

Case: Fractal Design R4 Pearl Black, window
CPU: i5 3570K
Mobo: AsRock Z77 Extreme4
PSU: SeaSonic X650 80 Plus Gold
Cooler: Corsair H80i
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB
SSD: Samsung 840 Series 250GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
ODD: LG 14x Blu-ray burner
Monitor: AOC 23" LED

I still need to work out what GPU to go with (torn between a HD 7850 and a GTX 660) and whether or not to add LED lights to the inside (it currently sits on the side of my computer table, so it isn't seen that much, unless I look under there). Here's how she looks so far:

Once I get some black SATA cables (or run come Tek-Flex over the current ones) and get the GPU I'll probably pull the center drive bay. The other HDD is from my old computer, currently there to pull files and programs. I may pop another 2TB drive in and run it as a RAID, but haven't decided. The SSD is in the back, as it shouldn't need to be bothered for some time. Debating on changing the fans on the H80i to some high pressure PWM fans, but it's more want than need.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the build. It's cool, it's clean, it's quiet, it's powerful , and it's mine. For further thoughts, please feel free to ask.
