OC3D Exclusive: OCZ prepares Neural Impulse Actuator for shipping next week

yes i do **insert devil hand sign and little mosh here***...probably won't sleep tonight...wanna play pong with my brain...rather than my hands...which are controlled with my brain....ugghhh you get what I mean :D

Do you guys have different types of shipping options? I don't remember seeing it when I ordered. I wouldn't mind paying extra for it to get here as soon as possible

unfortunately theres only one international shipping option...international signed for insured delivery by royalmail...should be with you in 2-5 working days...sorry....unless you have a fed ex account or ups account and can get it collected from our office but thats down to you...

I assume that the third NIA is totally unavailible to myself, so If I can't get in on the first shipment from elsewhere... I will change "suppliers"

Good news jaster, at least one person out there besides yourself will have one :P

If you get a chance too, take footage of the setup.

well the distis said that he had 6 on back order but if the customers didnt respond that he was going to see about shipping them to us...so I'll see what happens when I get into work...because I know a few of the orders are for business clients who can wait and if we get more then 3 (we may end up with 9) then you maybe inluck...will be in work in an hour so will have more info then..but exile you will really have to be quick about ordering if I say I can pull it off for you u better put the order in ASAP as I don't know how long i will be able to keep the window of oportunity open....

will do...my webcams a bit poor...and theres no light in my front room (ceilings too high to replace the bulbs) but I will do...it was so nice to open a box and have 3 staring at me...there packaged nicely as well...were down to just 4 at the distis and were hoping we should be able to obtain them or at least know by the end of the day...if that happens then that means we can fulfill all consumer orders, and the businesses can wait (which account for 70% of the orders weve taken)...thats one up for the little man...booyah...cant wait to get home

no support for x64 based OS's...considering there main products are enthusiast memory then don't you think that is a bit idiotic to say the least..and secondly where are the warnings telling us this on the packaging ,manual, software...it may have been on there product page for weeks but you still asume it being a new product that compatibility with all current OS's (and face it Vista x64 has been out nearly 18 months) would be a priority especially the wait we've had to endure, they bang on about "optimization for multicore" but cant program a 64 bit driver...pull your socks up OCZ....if your not careful there are other manufacturers on your heels that may steal your thunder...played pong at the office and the software does look pretty good....even managed with a bit of tweaking to get the glance feature working quite well...registered my disgust on the OCZ forums...and i'll put as much faith in there driver release date as I did the product releae date...not much...

It has said that on their NIA product page for weeks...

Also: um... will this "window" be open up until about 6 tonight at PEE SEE UPgrade (just making sure...)... I don't want to throw money through windows until I am sure that there is a friend on the other side (and the money is tied up with SSL over a secure inet connection)

Theyve all gone till the next shipment...weve been told that theres more expected in a weeks time...apparently...but OCZ have said different...they said that the second shipment isnt until another 3 weeks...and yes the websites secured...hacker safe registered the usual...were just going through development of the new retail website...so within the next month you'll see the verified by visa logo's and stuff that were already using but its just not advertised...webdevelopers dragging there feet...its all done through protx....which is the most secure on the web..apparently...

Jaster, we know you got one! Give us a mini review! =D

read my above post...yeah we played a bit with one of the bosses units...the softwares got loads of settings...its quite sensitive...and dont underestimate how still and relaxed u need to be to get the most out of the initial calibration tool...we ran it a few times before we realised it...the glance feature is quite accurate with tweaking... but if you have a raised brow I can see that causing issues...the band itself fits on myself quite flush however one of the guys has bushy eyebrows and it did seem to cause interference...managed to get a response time of .22 seconds on the reflex test which compared to .5 ish on the mouse is quite impressive improvement...I recon within 2 hours I could do a reasonable laptime on trackmania with the nia alone...but failing to notice it only being 32 bit compliant (which I still think there lack of advertising that fact is a bit of a joke) I have one sat here in a box unused taunting me...its a bit like waking up on your birthday to a cake made of dog poop...but your freinds swearing its chocolate...yours is on its way quoc...made sure of it personally...did someone send you your tracking number...??

Woohoo Quoc :P

No 64 bit drivers is a bit of a bummer (my laptop uses it), but I have a xp machine which is still in the majority. Everyone is dragging their 64bit support though, the biggest examples would be tv tuner manufacturers.

Moving house now but I'd already updated the shipping address to be the business I work at... so that'll help.

kk.

Well jaster... 32bit is not soo bad. I have sworn by Vista since its release, sine it preformed smoother for me than XP on my Wifi, and then in october/novemberish I moved to 64-bit and swore I would never go back to less than Windows Kernel 6.0.02 64-bit edition.

I just built a New PC. It has no OS on it... and my Zalman 8800GTX waterblocks just came in today...

It has 8gigs of OCZ HPC ram, a q9300 (yes you 45nm hating $%^bags, I need cores 3 and 4, and the lower temps of the 45nm, coupled with the better LOW OC - I will make it Stable at 3.2 at stock voltage!!!), a zalman reserator v1 (Ionic breeze looking thing), 2x250gb 7200.10's in RAID 0 for OS and Programs w/ 64kb stripe, and 2x160gb WD in RAID 0 for Page File / data storage w/ 64kb stripe, 2 8800GTX"ae" (plural?), and the fast booting MSI P7N Diamond - and get this...

I am putting 32bit XP (2000 if I can, it beats the pants off of any OS ever, XP, OSX, Linux, etc... would do 32bit vista but I don't want to use another vista key...) AND 64bit Vista on this thing.

64bit screws with my Wifi speeds, my Sound drivers (used to use a Razer AC-1, may again...), Dragon Naturally Speaking 9, and occasionally looses my SATA Optical drive...

32bit sux in general, and I know I will only have use of 2.5gb of Ram... but so what?

Basically:

1) 32bit is not that bad. Unless you want The Witcher, maybe Crysis, maybe Supreme Comander, or As5in's Creed... you will not miss those extra gigs.

2) worse than lack of 64bit is lack of linux. Sheesh... think of how fast you could think command lines if you assigned the common phrases to NIA commands...

3) how freaking hard will it be to make the sucker work in 64bit... weakminded little... listen... I am a hardware god, but my software skills are minimal... none-the-less I can still force all my exe's to run in 64bit...

Jaster check hyperpoop.

check my other thread exile...and the tv tuner card issue is a crapper on x64...however compro and hauppage have pulled there fingers out and both released MC compatible digital/analogue/S1/S2 cards...and there pretty cheap as well....and its not exe's were talking about exile...its drivers...if it was just a problem with the exe's do you really think I could not of sorted it already....
