OC3D Exclusive: OCZ prepares Neural Impulse Actuator for shipping next week

Nice snipes...but one suggestion..just not to limit it just to the NIA...maybe call it BCI Central (Brain Computer Interface) that way you leave it open to add some of the other devices that'll be out later in the year...nice to see a place where people can share there game profiles...nice touch...still wondering if they will release an SDK for it...this could become its own communtiry within a very small time...

I had considered that. At the moment it is on a typical free server and before i make it large, i plan on shifting to some propper hosting. I do plan on adding things for emotiv and other devices. will be adding alot more content this week and making it more user friendly!

No news really...I havent got one...and were waiting for news of the next shipment...theres new software available to download from the OCZ site...and a mate of mine has set up a facebook users group...thats the extent of everything my end...

I think my package might be lost..... Right now it's 12:20 PM Wednesday and if it's nOt here by 5, it may be missing. It's been a week already

Finally got it.... the first hour using it yields very little progress. I can't get get the muscle signal below the green light so everything is extremely sensitive

i'll check the tracking number....it can take up to7 days...not sure wether thats working days...or includes weekends....i'll check in the morning when I get in...

Anybody successfully got glance working? I'm have problem with it..... It seems to be very sensitive and muscle signal seems to also have control over it so it's completely random. I don't have control over its directions. Also for some reasons I only get Pong game and not reaction game or glance practice game.

Using latest driver from OCZ

Not sure quoc...I think everyones having issue with the glance control....we had similar issues with muscle....until we calibrated it going more or less brain dead during calibration....but that was with the first version of the software....hope you have better luck with it over time...just glad you got it....

Another thing I notice is the manual says to focus on the gyroscope for 30 secs when calibrate.... well, I can't because when I hit calibrate, it only goes through 1 cycle (that's about 5 seconds) and either it's successful or gives warning if it's above the green line

that sounds odd....not encountered that issue...u tried the OCZ forums and the like...its not something ive heard mentioned....but i'll keep an eye out and see if anyone has similar issues....can u post a quick report on the other hardware your using, and OS,may give us a bit more insight

I'm running XP with SP3 on Intel Duo E6750 with 2 GB RAM... Sorry for late reply.... I got frustrated with trying to get glance working for 6 hours without luck. And no, I didn't post on OCZ forum because to be honest I don't have much faith in them from previous experiences. I'm gonna try this without the patch and perhaps another computer tomorrow. If it still doesn't work I'm considering sending it to a friend of mine. Maybe he'll get it to work.

yeah theres a few software bugs from what people have told me...well they were quick to release updated software...so who knows...still no word on the second shipment...and still no freebies from OCZ...:( ahh well patience is a virtue...

I notice this place has also been knocked from first page in google - ocz own page is on top

Still top of page #1 for "ocz nia" and middle of page #2 for "nia" for me

Indeed you are correct - I noticed that its back, and according to google I have over 100 visits to the page :o yikes.

The Australian Emotiv is currently in Beta testing and will have a release date in few months... the pressure is on!

yeah....well one of the major distributors in the UK "apparently" had there first shipment stolen...after 20mins on the phone with them, after pointing out that I speak to a few of the OCZ sales and marketing people on a regular basis...the story changed from "stolen" to "not recieved"....sorry I aint really been on there tails but I have really been busy...OCZ said last thursday that basically there not sure whats going on.....the second shipment has not been shipped from taiwan, and no one has any confirmed date...I'm thinking that with the aquisition of Hypersonic and them trying to push there laptops and new ssd's maybe the NIA is being put on the back burner....I mean lets face it OCZ are well known in the enthusiast market, but the average caveman on the street would of never heard of them....so building a good corporate image for average Jo maybe a good idea before having a mass release of such an innovative product...and what better way of doing that then with laptops...just a thought...I think OCZ have alot of fingers in too many pies and with very little marketing and advertising maybe there struggling to cope with production demands balanced against actual sales and turnover...it wouldn't be the first great product to fail due to bad business practices...I'm gonna chase them up this week though and will let you all know as per usual..
