OC3D Crypto-currency Mining Pool?

Ahaha  lol'ed a little when I saw this :p.

Edge, do you think I should just buy myself a 270 and put it in my current rig, while in the mean time saving up for the rest of the rig. I have all the money other than the money for the PSU :( and unfortunately not my whole family agrees that this will work so wont lend me the extra £50 I need :(.

Why not just wait until you make that money with Dogecoin? It's proof of the return, ain't it? :D

I just started wondering, if I wanted to, could I get a 270 and have that mining while leaving my 7870 to play games when I'm not mining and not losing too much efficiency?

And yea it is probably the best way to get them to come round to the idea ;).

Thinking of buying this and putting it in my rig and then mining with my 2 cards. Thinking this because it's a 270X and its only £129 which I can pay off in around a month of mining.

^^^ Nvidia's don't hash worth a damn just to put it in to perspective a GTX titan will do around 300Kh/s a cheap HD7850 will do 350Kh/s

I actually get 330-340Kh/s per GTX 780 @ stock. A titan does just over 400KH/s on Scrypt.

Still crap compared to the AMD cards of course. Especially in KH/s per watt.

Oh god! I just did it! I got a R9 270 for £134 from ebay. I got the Powercolour one because apparently they run the coolest and get the best overclocks.

Wow im just going to save up once i start my job and get 4x R9 270s probably gigabyte will have 2.5x R9 290 Kh/s for roughly the same price.

EDIT: if i grab them on ebay

eBay were the cheapest other than scan, but scan were out of stock and I didn't want to wait till the 28th to start mining properly. Anyway, now I need to get a milk crate and make it suitable for my needs :p.

Lego and coat hangers is where its happening

Ah crap. I should probably add that it seems that 90% of AMD GPUs currently on ebay will be ones that have an issue with them due to mining/general defects/not OCable for whatever reason. I'm saying this after my friend bought 4 7870s for his miner from various places on the internet and 3 of them had issues (one was an easy fix because it needed new thermal paste, the other had memory issues because it was an XFX card with no ram heatsinks and the other one had a dead fan). I've also heard of high failure rates from other 'sites as well so lets hope you did good instead and caught a bargain ^_^.

As far as i can tell the 290 is very similar to the 290x and thats about as good as you can get for mining right now.

I've also heard you can sometimes unlock the card to a 290x giving you more umph. Although even without unlocking you should be able to get about 800kHash/s out of it, and more with some tweaking, which is not bad at all :D

So long story short, not at all, its a pretty damn good card for mining as far as i can see. The very top is obviously the 290x but you're not far off with that. :D

You'll have to run that fan pretty fast though, as i've heard the reference cooler isn't the best ;p

For any graphics card used for mining and running on air you have to run the fans at 100% all the time otherwise it invalidates the warranty.

Looks like I'm going to have to nock the clock on the card back to around 945 core and 1500 memory because at around 12 today my rig white screened again causing me to stop mining. Hopefully this will make it stable and keep me around 370kH/s and still be stable.

Just wondering again if anyone knows why I might be getting a white screen. It doesn't turn into a blue screen etc but my computer stays on idle and can only be resolved through a hard power button reset.
I have a feeling that it may be down to my memory modules on my GPU overheating as I've been running memory clocks at about 1575 for about 24 hours before it eventually crashed.

Ok so I've been mining for a few days now on/off and I've got about 1k Dogecoins and I've started thinking long term, and how to sell them... Seems that the only legit way would be DOGE -> BTC -> GPB..?

Not too keen on that especially since some of the exchange websites don't look 100% trustworthy either :/

Anyone know a good way to go from DOGE to GPB without getting scammed, while keeping it all simple..?

Trade Doge to BTC on Cryptsy, then sell your BTC to.. somewhere.

I originally thought there would be some form of ''cash out'' system like there are in real banks... jokes on me for not doing my research I guess... I'll probably sell em for straight GPB on a forum somewhere if I'm lucky :/

Sell a paperclip and include 1000 free dogecoins but just sell it for the price of dogecoins on ebay. People buying wont care about the paperclip. Lots of big sellers do it, its a loop hole.
