OC3D 3D Printing enthusiasts

Have you tested it with large scale GPUs? it looks cool. But id be worried the IO panel might bend from the hefty weight of some of them.

I haven't used it with a GPU like the RX 5700 XT Red Devil, so I don't know about heavy cards. The intention behind this if for photography purposes, so they won't be used for very long for each GPU.

ah makes sense then. However, with good support, these can become some outstanding display stands for a more permanent use!

Seeing your mounts gave me an idea. I have a USB hub with switches. I can never see which are on because of the angle. So I decided to make a couple of angled desk mounts to raise it 30 degrees

I designed it on only 2 dimensions, and even the chamfer of the corners paid off to perfection. Surprised myself :)

Its only attached with velcro at the moment. I need to buy smaller screws that won't go through the the desk completely.

Took the plunge and got a 0.2mm nozzle. Omg the quality is amazing. I thought I would have issues with back pressure and extrusion, but its printed flawlessly.

Only thing to remember is levelling the bed again. Ill post some comparisons later. I printed a storm trooper death mask and the difference in 0.4 and 0.2 is quite clear.

I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Ok so I fished out my oneplus 8 pro to take photos with a macro lens. Just to zoom in.

Both heads were printed as a stress test to see how fast I could push the models out and maintain good quality.

And just to show the size of the figure itself

Also, I know im comparing different colours here, but check out the texture of the logo.

The black bitspower was done with 0.4mm and you can clearly see the multiple wall lines on the design instelf, along with lines for the base surrounding the dragon

I did this in white with the 0.2mm nozzle.

With the exception of the recessed layer which didnt have anything to bond against, you would not think the piece was 3D printed, there are literally no print lines anywhere

Got a favour to ask any one of our 3D printer owners here, Looking at getting an Index front cover printed, File is on ThingiVerse, Obviously I'll pay you for the filament used, Time needed and postage to the UK.

Index Visor LowPoly with light Holes with extrusion width of 0.40mm

I can probably do it, but didnt you buy one from etsy?

Or maybe WYP would be a better candidate because norway shipping fees :) if no one else can do it, ill fix it for you.

Got an option of

I think I'll might be able to sort that out for you. What colour do you want it in. I have PLA in Red, White, black and grey.

Appreciated bud but I think WYP may be cheaper in terms of shipping due to him being inside the UK.

Black please, Let me know how much for it and the postage when you can :)

Had an initial print for Dicehunter there and it was a disaster. Printed the PLA at 180 degrees when it needed to be hotter.

I have found some new slicer options and I am very happy with the results so far. Very pleased. Will post again when the print is finished as it will take a lot of time to print this. Quality needs to be good as this is a commission.

Awesome sauce, I may have some more paid work for you in a few months ^_^

Ok. Here is what we have so far. Not much is done yet, but I am very happy with the surface finish so far.

Just printed a model that usually takes 3 hours on a 0.4... with this 0.2 nozzle. 11 hours later and im done. HAHA

Yep. A tiny nozzle will do that. Should have Dicehunter's print done in about an hour. Very happy with the finish so far. I have learned a lot through this process.

While the nozzle only has half the diameter, the impact on the volume of material it can excrete is much larger than that. That's the cost of printing with a small nozzle. There is a trade off with small nozzles.

For small stuff, such as models, resin 3D printers have a lot of huge perks. Though those printers have their own problems, such as the toxicity of the resin etc. Great for making miniatures though.

Update - Finished the print

Pretty happy with the surface finish. Managed to get all of the seams to line up on the back of the print (where it will never be seen). That helped give the front such a good finish.

I will print another one, and I am tempted to try it with a slower printing speed and a 0.16mm layer height to see what difference it makes.

Since this print is oriented like this, there is little need to increase the layer height further. It wouldn't benefit much from the extra detail.

What do you think Dicehunter?

Don't bother with cleaning them up much though, I'll sand them and finish them once they arrive, Sending moolah first obviously during the week :)
