Oky been a while since ive over clocked but just started on my Q6600 go

Only been messing for the last 20 min or so fitting the WC kit.

Getting a bit difference on core temps but ill sort that out later on.

Dont think its to bad a shot since i haven't oced on water for quite a while.

See attached image and let me know what you think ill have a bit more of a play later on.

V core's a bit higher than I would like, but then again it is 65nm, so nothing to worry about. Looks like a pretty nice set of temps there and different temps on all the cores is normal. Two of my cores are always almost exactly 10C below the other 2.

Gonna shoot for 4.0GHz?

Temps are fine one core always is hotter, I was expecting alot worse tbh dude, the only way round it is to keep remounting and tweaking the preasure.

But yours is ok dont fret, it is getting hot though matey so if you want more then youll need a better rad.

Edit if you do want to play with it then its normaly the mount thats iffy

see HERE

oky think this will do for now ....

4.014Ghz

Shold i push for more ... hmm . maybe later on atm the fans are screaming.

there is no way i expect it to be stable at 4 Ghz lol.

Ill give it a go though as i just tweeked the vtt and pll. will see how it goes.

thats about as stable as a chocolate fire-guard .... Massive fail lol....

I can run quick bench marks ect but that just killed the system.

At least i now i can hit 4 ghz but looking around the net the ppl showing off 4 ghz aint running test like that so im presuming a lot of them are full of poo as its not stable at 4+ Ghz.

I reckon it will handle 3.8 fine though so im down clocked to 3.8 and i'll leave it running at that with out my fans going mental every time i pay a game lol.

Sometimes I get stable 3.8 and then one day it's crazy and BSOD like mad. 3.4 is the sweet spot for this CPU atm, don't know why this happens as the voltages and timings are exactly the same and temperature also.

Weird but meh, Tommy talk to me

Yeh i think you maybe right. Minf you im running this now at 3.8 and been running the test and its working fine with out any problems. the temps are maxing out at 60 on 95% load so i don't think that's to bad in comparison.

I think if i played alot with the voltages and cooled down the rest of the motherboard inc NB/Sb i think i might be able to squeeze a little more out of it. But what's the point as it works and im getting my moneys worth out of it.

whats is VID ? and its been running on test now for quite a few hours with the bench test that tom gave me and its still running sweet.

Or how can i tell what my VID is .....

so running at 3.8 and no crashes and running fine and my teps are at 59c at 95% load wich is cool as far as im concerned. Please remember lads the last time i did any real over clocking was back in the days of the 1st amd 64 and well before that time. this is the first time as such ive put some real effort into ocing a Duel core.

So no i wouldn't say 3.8 is pushing it tbh.

I did re adjust my thumb screws and 3 core's are at 59c and 1 core is at 56c so think ive got it as close as i possably can.

All 3 of my q6600's were bought at the same time so what ever this one does i might be able to do on the other 2 as well.
