Oblivion weird graphics?

EDIT: ya Ham`s correct - we`ve been here b4, imo the game sucks in the design/writing, u like it - simple as that I guess, democracy in action.

Yes the writing is a little leaky, but the game far surpasses every RPG out there for looks, so it's not gonna play well on a cr@ppy old card is it?

WoW just doesn't do it for me - it's nowhere near as stunning as Oblivion.

Those extra textures look fantastic but the link come up with a oopps forum message:(.

You reckon that theres a big difference in performance between the 640mb and 320mb GTS on this game kemp?

Hmm maybe a google will get it up?? Not sure.

And I wouldn't say much tbh. Mostly Oblivion is about the CPU (and RAM obviously) doing a lot of work for you - which is where games like WoW benefit a lot...the servers do a lot of that for you. Oblivion has to work out where hundreds (thousands) of NPC's are going and what they're doing. I would say a 320mb would do you nicely in Oblivion

lol not a chance m8, couldn`t agree with that if I had to.

I have never spent so much time on another game.

People need to wake up.. The Tis are old news.. Plus cannot run DX9..

Meaning they cannot run Oblivion..

Unless you use the cool program called "old Oblivion". :p

Which part? The graphics blow away every RPG I've played

Ya ok, maybe play some more ? Dunno, can`t help u more than that.

I got a 4200Ti in the cupboard that`ll use Dx9 if u wanna try it - can`t think why tho.

U guyz are taking it too personal, just cos some1 thinks the game u like sucks, it aint the end of the world, we`ve all got opinions, it`d be boring if we didn`t.

You have a good point Mr Rast!

A ti that runs DX9 that is like amazing! :p

KKKKK guys, let's try and help this guy out now shall we?

Since I don't really know that much, I'm gonna say reinstall.

Me and ham have already said the most like thing!

Vista or Drivers! ;)

Oblivion had problems running on my rig even with my cpu @ 2.8ghz stablr (just a little hot). I had to turn off shadows and distance plus a few other extras to even get it playable - it then looked poo.

I need to get a 8800gt :p

I'd say uninstall, delete all traces of it (folder) then run ccleaner plus a registry cleaner scan (ccleaner again or equivalent) then reinstall afresh :)

Seeing as there`s a whole lot of members here, some getting good success, some not - why don`t yall post in the open what settings u`r using along with u`r hardware. I know u`r hardwares are in the profiles in most cases, but if u make a nice listing here u can help each other out.

Keep it semi-simple like:

Hardware:

CPU/RAM/GFX/Soundcard

Software:

OS/GfxDrivers/Sounddrivers

Settings:

Ingame, screendepths, textures - or listing like ingame etc

Problems:

Answers itself.. if u guyz who got it working great post aswell, it`ll help the others I`m sure. If u know and r using a known patch for something, linky it if u know - or it`s filename atleast.

Trust Rast to organize!

He right guys! Everyone who uses Vista and Vista drivers post your spec and graphic set up!

Would help loads!

Ive tried a reinstall of vista, and have also tried the updated nvidia vista drivers. Both to no avail.

All i did was copy the oblivion folder onto my new vista and same thing. Must be something to do with that? Im going to go and make a new game, NOW. Get outside and start again. See what happens. Will post results :)

Snce a Ti440 doesn't run DX9 at all and will default to a DX7 or 8 path I don't see the point in the "TEST"

And as far as playing a few more RPG's not sure which one's you want me to play - but I've played at the very least all the ones you've said and more - Oblivion on full settings easily looks better. Not saying it's better, but it does look far better

hehe it`s still awfull, even tho u can install the dx9 on the card, whether or not it`s being fully utilized is another thing - but I still don`t know why u guyz would want to try it on a Ti it looks bad enough as it is.

Give the guy a linky or a filename atleast if we`re not gonna help him any other way.

Heres an update that may puzzle some of you....

Basically i put my mates 7600GS PCI Ex card into my system and these glitches were still occurring.

So i took an old IDE HDD and installed XP Pro on it... Guess what? same problems.

Thats rather weird dont you agree? its not something to do with my outrageous overclocking is it? :P
