NZXT Switch 810 modded. (Still in Progress)

Really nice.

That blue tubing looks really nice, love the shade of blue. I love the look of the GD65, 7970 Lighting, AX850, and Mushkin Ridgeback Black is my favorite looking memory of all time!

Goreous looking hardware all around.

Warning bringing back a dead thread lol

First I want to apologize to everyone that has asked questions and I have not responded. I am getting back on for frequently to answer the questions and to help anyone out if I can.

@magicc8ball Hey there fellow texan!! I just recently came across this thread and several other NZXT 810 switch mod threads and decided I just had to become a member! I been watching several videos and I think that most 810 switch case owners will likely want to get around doing 4 case mods which are fairly simple:

1) doing front cut outs for better ventilation/show off some LED fans

2) doing cut outs on the top, (I really like how another user HighlanderHD did his)

3) doing a cut out of some preference to the optical bay (Im getting a special edition and thinking of just dremeling out the middle that way i can still slide in something rather than cutting all out like you did lol)

4) cutting out a small pieces on the drive bays like user Letterkilled did (I believe you posted on thread as his build came along lol)

Now this is all I know so far that would benefit the case. I'm coming across problems in terms of getting the right power supply size and right radiator size for the bottom. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151109 this is the power supply I wanted to go with. I've only bought 2 items so far case and a gtx 590. As I know the 590 is power hungry I just wanted a power supply that could handle it with no issue. This is my first time building a PC and I'm trying to make sure I take my time and get it done right!

That 590 was and still is very power hungry... It is a card that even if you were to purchase it today it would still last you awhile.
I have been thinking about doing some more mods here recently trying to look some up and figure out what I can do and if I want to do it.

Nice build

Although i think the loop would be more tidy if the rad was in the roof

Thanks! The reason I did not was because I was going to get a 360 Nexxos ut60 I believe and use it for the GPU. That was the plan up until EK stopped making the Waterblocks for the 7970 I own. For those that do not know the EK waterblock for the MSI Lightning 7970 was shorting out the cards.... So as you guessed it I never purchased the rest of my equipment for the build... :(
Since I am thinking about moving up to 2560*1440 gaming, I would need to purchase new cards so I could run at Ultra on BF4 and get some good frame rates. The only monitor I am currently looking at is the ASUS 144 1440p monitor. Yes it is expensive but I do not know how much longer it will be till they come out with one that does not have Gsync or another Brand makes one.

was just curious why you did not roof mount?

Read above.

I loved this build and I am getting the itch to build another but honestly it would be a waste of money.... The only 2 things I would change the color on is the yellow on the lightning (last time I checked Lightning was supposed to be white ;)) and the green on the memory. I wish they would make it a black pcb.

Anyways it is good to be back and will be talking with you all soon about 1440P monitors and maybe new GPU's in Xfire or SLI.
