nylon barb ok for a waterblock?

My graphics card (sparkle 8800GT cool-pipe) has a heatsink on the back and it is in the way of placing any tubing onto the barbs on my southbridge waterblock.

I think the only way I can get round this is by using a right angled barb into the waterblock (Forgive me cos it's my first water build and only second pc build).

Only thing I can find in stock at present is a nylon barb. Would this be ok (picture below)?

It is a 'Nylon Elbow 1/4" BSPT Thread to 1/2" Hose'

My waterblocks are G1/4 and I am using tygon 1/2"ID tubing.

I'd prefer a metal barb like something on those SLI card set ups but nothing I can find in stock at all and need this for christmas.

Please can you help?
:o

if you're putting it in both holes won't you have trouble attaching the second barb?

I don't get you SuB. The heatsink on my graphics card hangs at an equal height over both the barbs. Any barbs fit okay. Just there isn't room to add tubing on straight barbs cos the heatsink is in the way. But if I can get some right angled barbs like the photo above then i would have room to add the tubing to the side of the heatsink.

Really the question is are these nylon barbs (photo'd) okay to use on a waterblock? (more info in original post)

I've just clicked on with what you mean now. Oh dear!

I get you. I'm not going to be able to twist them both onto a block as one will get in the way of the other.

OH BUGGER... dunno what to do now. ARGH

unless i try one nylon barb alongside one of those short stubby barbs which will be a sqeeze still with the tubing..

the only way around it is to use smaller tubing, i've seen come fittings that are 90 degree but have a swivelling joint in them to allow 2 to be fitted. but i think they were for the smallest standard size tube :S i'll hunt my old ones out 2nite and show you what i mean

Yeah I know but i am only using 1/2" ID tubing. I'll try one nylon 90 degree barb and a short stubby one. I'll keep looking for one of those swivel type sli ones. Other than that I'd have to replace the water block with a heatsink unless the waterblock will just acted as a heatsink.

But no way am i changing my tubing for just the southbridge waterblock.

If you guys see any barbs that will work for me please do let me know. Thanks guys.
