Feeling that way is very understandable. Hopefully when they release vega, they do it the same way they are doing ryzen... Undercut Nvidia price so bad and beat them on the performance. It should show everyone how they have been screwing us like intel has... Good to see competition though... should make us win in the end, at least I hope lol.
I can't see Vega standing up to the 1080ti. That's the problem. People will just point and laugh as they usually do when AMD release a GPU.
The problem is the "scene" is dying. How many topics do we have on here talking about GPUs?
Even at OCUK the GPU section has pretty much died on its posterior. It used to have loads of arguments etc now? it's "Who has a 1080? oh, OK".
Every one has pretty much written off Vega. I mean yeah if they pull a Ryzen? then sure things could change. Problem is they haven't spent five years on Vega.
I dunno man. We'll see I guess, but I have a sneaking suspicion that now Nvidia have pushed the prices up AMD will just charge per dollar for every mhz and frame per second that you get.
When Nvidia pushed GPUs to record highs with the 3gb GTX 580 AMD released the 7970 at the same price. Sure, it beat the 580 quite conclusively but £440?
I bought one and I regretted it. I guess for that much money I expected too much out of it. Got it in my PC "Oh, it's just a hot GPU".
I can't be spending £650 on a GPU. Especially when I used to make it my yearly purchase. £650 to play crap games with crap graphics hardly any better than before? yeah, hmm, nah.
And the next one is set to cost quite a bit more than that. I just don't find that exciting. Even the worst of the willy wavers on OCUK have not bought the Titan XP. They're all on 1080s, bored crapless because there's no one left to argue with.
