NVIDIA Titan Pictured...

Cars look better than GTX690 but this is only one model or some manufacturer think to present some different version maybe.

You guys seriously think that this

Looks better than this?

Both look pretty much the same to me. A different fan and placed more in the middle on the second card, but almost the same design. Of the two I would lean to the 690 GTX based solely on the looks. The Titan looks like a slightly dressed up stock reference card IMHO with the same type fan. As some in the south over here would say, it is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Seems a nice looking product to me - of course, like others here, I'd do nothing other than test it with the stock air cooler, water all the way :)

If you guys care to search eBay, you'll see one person already listing this card for a little over $1,500 dollars. He appears to be someone with 100% good feedback and says he had 10 cards in stock. I'd not entirely trust this, despite his seemingly good rep.

Regaring production run numbers...From what I've read in several places, that seems to have subsequently been miss-quoted, is that NV planned an initial run of 10,000 cards. These are the cards reportedly ready to ship to vendors at launch, but there would be more to follow. Again, this might be totally wrong.

For me, a GTX Titan coming in at under £600 would be an appealing product. I know more "bang for you buck" can be had with...well, pretty much anything at the price this card will likely come in at (£900+) but that's not the point of high-end stuff like this. I enjoy just reading about such new products, such as the MARS and ARES, despite how silly these things are for most people. However, those who demand such high-end gear are more than happy to pay the price to get the experience. Some say it's e-Peen or whatever, I say it's a customer using their own heard-earned to get the experience they want.

My friend always tries to buy the absolute best card he can. He bought a pair of 4870x2's when they were the best. He bought a pair of GTX 480's when they were the hottest, noisiest, most expensive yet still fastest cards he could buy and he's still happy today. His 480's are under water mind, these cards were made to be water cooled in my view. I on the other tend to buy the card below. So, 8800GT rather than 8800GTS, GTX 275 rather than GTX 285, GTX 570 rather than GTX 580 - in the real world I get 90% or there abouts of the performance, for usually a good 25% less. This makes me happy.

Anyone out there who does end up getting a GTX Titan or two, GOOD FOR YOU, I hope you love your purchase and it does everything you want. Do tell us about your experiences with it so we can praise/ condem/insult/covet (delete as appplicable) your new purchase - it's your duty! ;)

Scoob.

I dont think it will be too long until we see double side graphics cards.

That's a good point. Already several cards (usually the ones with extra vRam that standard for that model) have some of their vRam on the back of the PCB. The Titan has a full HALF of it's vRam located there, based on what I've read. This means only half the chips are cooled, that doesn't sound good to me. Ok, I rarely OC vRam, but still, the stuff gets hot and being cooler is..well, cooler :)

Saying that though, the Titan does get 3gb on the cooled side, which is more than enough for most cards. Also, we'll likely seem higher and higher density ram as things move on, making double-sided possibly moot.

The card itself sure is a looker. Much like the stock 690.

The thing is, Im really unsure about the functionality of having an "opened" reference cooler.

The whole point of it is to have blowout in the back of the case. Is the looks worth a potential performance-decrease? I know that it being opened in the bottom-end of the card should probably minimize heat-leakage, but still.

That being said. I will not deny touching myself to these pictures.

effort? A flat heatsink, no heatpipes (which i don't mind actually) and a fan ? forgive me but it's not exactly what I'd call revolutionary is it? Waterblock or go home for me :P

I'm with SuB on this one.

It's a nice looking card compared to some out there, but where's the innovation? A bit of time spent on photoshop to move the fan position to the right and some bent metal to look at through the window? That illuminated green Geforce logo is a bit too Green Lantern for me too!

I guess it's how it performs though.

To be fair this isnt at all the same cooler as the older model 690. While that was a cooler that blew on the pcb this is a turbine-style cooler (reference) with vapor chamber cooling.

Its also the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder guys, so it wont float everyones boat, and the screaming green doesnt match much of anything except gigabyte sniper mobos (think those were the ones with light green pciports etc) but I bet some guys here could make it blue/white and that would be pretty much it really... best looking rig ever in my eyes.
