Nvidia GT 630

How do u know it is better, did u compare? I did.

My friend just bought it. Wei score--> 6.6(Desktop score is much lower)
4670 receives 6.8
My card, 9800gt green(a bit lighter than regular 9800gt) receives also 6.8

I tried FlatOut 2 Ultimate Carnage. GT 630 gives lower fps.
So I wonder why videocardbenchmark.net gives higher score:confused:

My mate's got a GT630+i3 in his laptop, and he can still play Arma 2 (dayZ) with all setting on low, and textures on high, with playable FPS... So I guess you could do some very light gaming on it, or some older games (I know he runs COD4 at 125 fps constant) :)

honestly, why even bother? even from the manufacturer's point of view, either you pay 100$+ and get a real GPU or you just don't and run an APU/onboard graphics.

You are offtopic pal, card is already taken by my friend.
Point is why videocardbenchmark.net writes craps

U mean that scores depends of setups? That happens in cards only?
Whats their setup?

GT 630 receives 722 points and 4670 receives 533 points. Thats a great difference for a card who gets less fps.
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/mid_range_gpus.html

they most likely gave the gt630 the best premises they could, so most likely an i7 setup.

also just because the gt630 beats the 4670 in a benchmark doesn't mean it's in general better than the 4670. especially in games the performance difference can vary a lot.

mfw high mid range cards

So, u r talking about bottleneck? That maybe gt 630 wont work in its best if u dont have a powerful cpu?

yes. the reason for why the other card works better with the same cpu is that it is a completely different core, it probably works in a way the cpu can handle better. i don't really know how to put this in a well thought sentence :/ i blame sleepiness.

someone please take over and put me out of my misery :D

i feel like the word bottleneck isn't necessarily fitting well. i mean it doesn't matter which cpu you use, a better one will always give you a slightly better framerate, while a bottleneck would mean that the cpu is at 100% and for that reason the gpu cant do better. it's more like the gpu does what it can, but the cpu's work is even though it isn't under full load not fast enough.

id say chuck the 4670 back in and if your asking on wich cpu to get to run the 630 me personally id sell the 630 and use what ever money he was thinking on spending on a new cpu and get a better graphics card .whats the budget if he only has enough for something like the gt 630 a better choice would be something along the lines of a 7750 or save that little bit more for the 7770 i dont usally recommend amd cards but if money is the issue thats your best bet .these cards will play the games butt not on any crazy settings .so just keep that in mind

a pc built for my mum 2 years ago is only running a athlon ii 245 with a gtx 560 asus card and been playing diablo 3 with max settings since the games release so really depends on what he, prefer awsome graphics or insane load time and speed

So... which cpu the gt 630 card needs in order to work in its best?

well. most likely a 3960x or something of those sorts. but i doubt you mean "perform the best", because it will obviously perform the best with the best CPU.
tbh, it has been said before, drop that crappy card and get a decent one. a decent cpu for you would be one of the locked i5s or an i3.

4670 cannot be back, its broken. Card wont change, my friend is not a hardcore gamer.
I still havent understood if GT 630 gets bottleneck from AMD x2 7750.

not that much my uncle,s been using that cpu paired with a 3870 for a while know and been playing games at 1080p for a while know with no hiccups .yes it would bottlneck it but not by a lot .if he,s looking at a upgrade and only a casaul gaming id go with the i3/i5 or one of amd,s apu,s .something long the lines of a a8 5600k paired with a asus f2a55-m-lk as budget might be tight this is one option butt if not. an i5 setup would be ideal .that said though the gtx 630 isnt really a great card and the a8,s apu graphics would most likely be a better option .plus the abaility to overclok the gpu and cpu within the bios is a plus .as you dont need to worry about messing around with anything else
