Nvidia 8800GT

Cheap as but I won't be getting one, looking at how it handles games @ my res (1920x1600) with eye candy I may as well wait for the new GTS or GTX...

Thinking about a guy like me - I want to play crysis and other upcoming amazing games at full out at least 1680x1050 and may upgrade to an even bigger monitor later on. My x1900gt has just about seen me through a year - I need another card to carry me through just as well/better.

Is this for more or do I need to go higher? Considering price/performance too (arent the GTS getting real close to the gtx? if so, for example i'd go for the gts) ;)

Sounds ace

I'm looking at getting one of these maybe next week depending on how somemore reviews comeout, I don't need the latest and greatest, just something to replace my ageing 7900GT and maybe do DX10 down the road.

I am not sure but OcUK are going to be selling their own brand which will be around £140 apparntly and an EVGA one aswell.

Hmm on Scans site as Rasta said theres a flash ad about Monday 2pm. It has a XFX logo, then BFG, EVGA, Gigabyte and Leadtek.

Just sold my 8800GTS 320mb to buy one of these :D

£140 would have to be ex.Vat at best. I can`t see how the market can sell a GTX for £380/£400 on reflection. Yet alone an 8600 for ~£120~.

GTX price would need to halfed to even be competitive, imo of course. But then the likes of 7950 cards are `still` expensive in relation.

Just ordered the Inno3D one from Ebuyer, spoke to them and they have them in stock and they will go out today. Only cost £154.99 and I opted for the free 5 day delivery so I should have it next Monday :)

After reading that I'm tempted to get one next day just for the craic.

Mixed reviews though re res/AA etc. It has to be better than my 8800gts

edit: Arrgh, i'm sat here with my card in hand (bank), card (gfx) in basket, thinking it's only £150. May as well... But my current gfx is in the loop and I'd have to drain and... Arrrrgh!

Will it carry you that far at such a large resolution? (im guessing your 24" is pretty big as my 1680x1050 is pushing my x1900gt)
