Nvidia 8800GT

Not found that at all. But thenI don't really see the point constantly updating your drivers at every release.

I find ATI drivers are horrible to use and incredibly clunky. Had a whole load more issues with brand spanking new cards on ATI whereas the drivers provided with nvidia cards pre-release work out of the box.

nvidia have slipped up a few times, sure, but nowhere near as much as ATI

Kemp - I simply can`t do Ati drivers.

I feel I would need a college course in patch-work and guile in order to get anywhere >.<

Sure I installed some.. oo a year or so ago.. after a few attempts of finding out what the hell was going on, something worked and I declared the pc never be touched by anything close to a driver again for fear something may unstable it.

(I`m sure for those in the know, it`s very easy)

I haven't had any problems with either I couldn't fix, I just prefer nvidia due to 3rd party apps like nhancer and rivatuner which are best on nvidia cards.

There we go.

Does look sweet tbh.

Reading pictures only in the most part, it`s fps comparisons to the gtx @ stock, have it waivering around 5 to 10 fps under. With the exception of CoH? where the gtx spanked it significantly.

What raised an eyebrow tho was the oc % increase. From what I saw they took it from 600 to 729 ?? From memory isn`t that a tad more %age than u`ll get from a gtx under the same cooling conditions ?

Makes me think that perhaps the same benches run, with both cards oc`d, the gt will take the gtx in all but coh ?!? possible.

And when it`s g92 get`s it`s own drivers... who knows..

I think the oc'ing was done with that zalman cooler.

just worked out a OC to 750/1650/1000 would give it a theoretical performance win in every section over the 8800gts.

Cant waiiiiiit to WC it to even higher :D

Thats the same cooler im putting on my 7950GT to make it even higher as well. Its nice to see that if i spend that kinda money on it i can deff put it on other cards beyound the 7 series.

MSI 8800GT spotted.

* 600MHz core clock

* 900Mhz memory clock (1.8GHz effective)

* 112 stream processors

* 1.5GHz shader clock

* 256-bit memory interface

Right.

Im not quite sure what exactly that means, but I think you can buy a shader-overclcoked version of the card, not just some magical card that can overclock shader its just a pre-oc'd card.

So not really needed but if its just slightly mroe money Ill probably get it until I get my wc'ing.

Fudzilla.

"We found out that Geforce 8800GT comes in five possible variants and each variant has its 512MB and 256MB version.

The first, as you can imagine, is the reference design with 600MHz core and 1800MHz memory clock. The 256MB version of this card will have the memory working at 1400MHz.

The second is the reference design + SPOC, Shader Processor Overclocking and it work's with the same clocks as the reference but with faster Shader. It was not specified what should be the Shader speed but this is up to AIB's.

The third kit is called Cost down $14 +SPOC and as you can imagine the Shaders are still overclocked, the GPU and memory are the same but they all can be overclocked. This is an 8 layer PCB board.

The fourth SKU is the scary one, it is called Cost Down more than $14 +SPOC and this card comes with 6 layer PCB and 256MHz memory at 1400MHz only. This is certainly the cheapest card from this generation.

The last but not the least is simply called Native HDMI and it comes as the 512MB or 256MHz part and you can get the picture what is the focus of this card. "

early indication is that they are going to be priced around 8800GTS 320 pricing although suppliers are short on specs and short on real pricing at the moment...

Seems theres no one yet in the UK distribution channels with a clear view on these cards...

Will see what else I can find out

that single slot cooler is really rather attractive.. so slim and nice lol

(sounds a little perverse :S)

seems everyones on NDA until Monday and I can't even squeeze any thing out of them even with my superior techniques of "I'm bigger than you"

So roll on Monday
