Hi all,

Today I'm going to travel back to December 2007 and show you some images from my dad's personal build for the 2007-2008 time period.

The case was some aluminum generic case that was fairly popular at the time. it was from TigerDirect. it had 2X 80mm fan mounts at the front with those light purple fast clips, some of you may remember those in older cases. they blocked the airflow quite a bit along with the poor quality cutouts in the case itself resulted in less than ideal airflow. My dad removed all the fast clips and cut all the aluminum out and made them all into 92mm fan cutouts. He then fitted all the cutouts with Vantec Steath 92mm fans, which were supposed to be quiet fans for the time.

The motherboard was an XFX Nforce 860i LT.

The memory was 2GB of DDR2 800mhz Corsair XMS 2

The video card was a EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS SSC Edition

Processor was an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Here are some picture's of the graphics card.

the 6/7 series of nvidia chipset boards give me terrible nostalgia erghhhh XD

I Like all these Old Builds you are putting up Andre!

Me too, someone should create a museum with a timeline of pc builts inside it :D

You and dad sure do keep busy with these computer builds :D

thanks guys! it is a lot of fun looking back at them and remember them all! i wish i had some more pictures of the earlier ones! before this one it was a gigabyte amd board with a amd 64 3200+ and a nvidia 6800 ultra around 2005 when the original far cry was coming out. then before that it was an MSI 875p neo, pentium 4 and nvidia fx5600 card. before that it was amd athlon xp 3200+ and geforce 4200ti, and before that it was pentium 3 500mhz and the original gefornce 256 in 1999 :)

i found the 6800 box the other day and took a picture, maybe some of you remember BFG cards?

I used to love those chieftec aluminum cases. Had one for a mobile AXP 2500+/9800pro/BH-5 build. That was such a great time in computers for me.

nice work mate!

thanks man! i have a band new personal rig project log coming up soon- im just taking pictures for that now. updated specs are in my signature :)

For sure! I had a lot of fun. I had a athlon XP 2900+ and a Radeon 9800 Pro too with one of those passive zalman heatpipe coolers on it that covered both sides of the card with a heatsink and there was one heatpipe that wrapped around the card and touched both sides of the heatsink :)
