I have been a a few forums over the last couple of years and have hated them all most of the people there were rude and arrogant and were basically take the right royal P*** to be honest. I have only been on here for a few hours but all of the reply's ive got have been just brilliant. its nice that people on here talk to each other like equals not on the other were it was like

"i have this many posts and have been on here this long so i cannot be wrong everyone listen to me!"

took me a while to actually join up on here after watching "Time to live customs" with tom. but i though what the hell if its like the others ill just leave. and so far it has been a good experience.

and sorry if i just rambled on

It's always refreshing to get feedback from new people whether it be good or bad.

Just out of curiosity though I see in your sig that you are saving for 2 palit gtx 470's Can I ask why.

it might be as they have come down in price but taking the price reduction onboard i would not use palit and also i would not use a refrenced cooled one

i woul into 2 1gb 460's fella

and i have over 2kposts and been hear for over a year so you better listen to me or else

how much slower are the 460s in sli compared with the 470s though ?

well the 1gb 460's are mega there are a few peeps with sli 460s and thats for a reason.

when overclocked highly (like mine) and they easy will they would be on par IMO,but i have never had a 470 as there to expensive they suck to much power and there hot.

if you have the money to get to non refrence cooled 470's then by all means so like the gainward GOOD edition and that would only be £20 more.

but i would still look into the 460s especialy the asus and msi hawks just for there awsomness and power and cooling

460 SLI are fantastic value. Going fastest or new model is never a smart idea.

Always compare price to performance. When I got my 5770 crossfire in January £250 was very cheap. DX11 support and nice and fast. Faster than a 5850, almost as fast as a 5870 and in some cases faster for £100 less.

However now the war is on. The 460 can be had for a song and punches well above its weight. I would have been tempted to spend the £250 or so on a pair (more now they are slowly rising in price

) but opted for a 470. Price to performance the 470 can not be beaten.

However, don't even consider running them in SLI unless you want to water cool them (the 470). Apparently they're around the same temps as a 280 and a mate of mine SLId 280s only to find he then had a convection oven in his room. He ended up putting them under water.

One 470 is bad enough, two would cook your insides. I'm used to the heat and I don't mind the noise (good olde Earforce HPA2 headset) but any more than one of them would annoy me greatly.

If you are after mid to high end performance then 460 SLI is an absolute no brainer. Infact, when they were £250 a pair it was such a no brainer you could have a lobotomy.

just been doing googleing on the 460s and they do seem pretty good to me but atm im even amazed by the jump from a 7600gt to a 8800gts (the g80 version)even though i havent really had a chance to use it in a game for more than a min.
