Note 3 or S5

Well i can say to you that nokia "upgraded" when going to windows phone OS. windows phone os is a completly diffrent OS to windows mobile.

Windows phone OS is by far the most stable, and responsive OS. The app store on windows phone OS is monitored and spam is not allowed, The applications have to pass cerification before going to the store (i know because ive developed apps for it before. On android app store, there are a lot of apps with spam ads etc, and no cerification is required

Here is my proof of just how much microsoft cares about their windows phone app store. As you can see, they have tested my app on multiple devices checking for bugs before the app was released. They tested my app and found that on certain theme my some of my apps text wasn't visible, and what i had to do to fix it. This just shows how much microsoft cares about good quality apps

But what benefit will a lumia be to me or what ever windows os phone you recommend?
They have the HTC One M8. Check out some reviews and let me know what you think?

Build quality wise it's probably the best out there at the moment (speaking strictly about Android phones). The Sense UI is pretty nice as well.

I can't see how the HTC will benefit me over the Note 3.
HTC looks better, response faster but that's irrelevant because the Note 3 isn't totally slow or ugly but that's my opinions,
for university the Note would stand out for it's office functionality

This video does it.

without specs nicely done

Windows Phone devices always used to be a bit cheaper cause no one wanted them, although now they are becoming more popular so prices are getting a bit higher.
They don't need high-end specs though, even the budget phones like the Lumia 630 are incredibly smooth, and tbh, that's all you need if you don't play games on your phone.

No tablet, let alone phablet or even a phone, is good for office functionality. Just no. Even if you have a full-sized tablet with a (tiny) external keyboard, it's just not a good experience imo.

I think you need to reconsider what phone you want, but more so what you need. A smartphone is nice, but is in no way going to replace a small laptop when going to uni.

Okay you got a point but it is nice to have interacting devices and I have a laptop...
For me, I would go with the Note 3 because the cons doesn't affect me, e.g. the touchwiz problem and people not liking the watch.

BTW Do you know about NOVA?

HTC ONE looks impressive^_^^_^
between two :D Cum'on between her Note 3...

Be aware there is a difference between the HTC One (M7) and the HTC One M8. It's a really good phone though, I heard there are plans to release one with WP8.1 which I would be extremely interested in.

HTC Sense is one of the nicest Android skins there is in my opinion, but the build quality of the phone is also amazing and the dual speaker design is quite awesome :)

M8... But i'm not still worried about the UI and touchwiz things. The phone mustn't freeze, slow down or lag than I am happy, e.g my Nokia N8 never slowed and I have almost no phone memory.
And i kinda like the back cover of the note 3

But I have to say that speakers :p, and it look beautiful

The front facing speakers really are a godsend and I cannot sing enough praises about HTC Sense.

Like i said earlier in the thread. Get the M8. Its the best andriod phone simply because of its HTC Sense skin. Of all the ones i have briefly used it was by far the easiest to get used to. Samsungs crap is terrible in comparison.. i wanted to break the phone(S5) within 10mins. I love my M8 and its very fast. Only time it lags is when i got the memory up 1.73GB of the 1.8GB usable(also got very hot and battery was going down quick). That was my fault though and besides that i never noticed any lag or slow down. Battery last all day too even though i only keep it on level 1 brightness as for me its bright enough. As said above though the speakers set the bar of where others should be. They really are great. The music app while decent, its best feature is the built in visualizer. If it can find the lyrics online it will create a lyric music video for the song. Its pretty neat and i sometimes got lost looking at it instead of listening to the music lol

Only cons i have with the phone(though this is pretty much for andriod) is the lack of a dedicated music/video app built into it that makes it super easy to access all of my downloaded songs. It really is annoying to me since i like to listen to my music a lot. Though i found a way to make it easy but time consuming..

You like the phone because you like music, and the skin that's how you feel. I use the S3 daily without stressing over a UI and it never lags or slow down. I had time with the S5 and I don't find it value for money because what S3 can do S4 can do faster and S5 can do it faster but the Note 3 has feature no other phones has with its pen and watch combination.

If you want to experience the Stock Android UI, you'd be better off with a Nexus (if it's available).

I would like to get the note 3 with stock UI if not i'm taking the HTC One M=00==00=.

It looks like we can't change your mind :p. All we can do is give an account of our personal experiences with the HTC One M8. If that is not enough to sway you, you might as well get the device you think will be the best fit for you.

As far as I'm aware you can't buy a Note 3 with the Stock Android UI. You'll have to flash it.

Also, please edit your post instead of double posting.

Oh now can't I install the simple stock Andriod UI on the Note 3?
ISN't it the same like flashing and installing OS?
If you don't like the interface, the simplest thing to do is to install a Launcher from the marketplace, Apex or Nova launchers are very good(I'm using apex).

Other than that just go with what you like better. M8 has great build quality and feels better in your hand but personally I prefer the larger battery of the Note3, although 5.7" would be a concern for me.

Yes, that's what I want because on reviews you don't get the full picture but the Note 3 won me on reviews. Atleast i am experience in flashing phones but would have to wait two years because of warrenty.

I saw someone ran Nova and it looked beautiful and simple would consider it. The reason why No one won me over to M's side is because everyone that recommend it based on style, speaker, UI and speed which is irrelevant to me. The Note 3 isn't that ugly although the M8 is far prettier. And the speaker (ag hardly use phone for music and when I do I use wireless earphones). That's why I'm into the Note (I can say next without lifting a finger). UI is bad but i don't care and the Note is fast.

How's apex?

Apex is great, I've tried all the launchers about 3 years ago when I got my S2 and apex was the best at that time and since then I've had no reason to change.

Erh about the voice commands, do you really want to sit at uni or on a train and be that person that's talking to his phone?

I'm not being funny or harsh but it seems like you've had your mind made up since your first post. TBH if you like Samsungs UI then go for it and get the note 3, you'll be happy with it.

I don't find it stupid. I don't travel public transport (going with my daddy's car) and plus at uni, i'll record the lecture straight to the memo.

Yeah but if someone had negative things to say about the Note 3 that would effect me i would have changed
