Note 3 or S5

I have the Note 2 and its the only phone I have ever had that after a year and a half, I still don't see a reason to upgrade it. Usually I only last 6 months on a phone. I love my Samsung.

Don't get the S5. I used my moms for 10mins and wanted to break the damn thing.. so unuser friendly. Can't speak for the Note 3 though.

However i use a HTC One M8 and i love this thing to death. Out of all the Andriod phones i tested this was the easiest to pick up and use. Its just simple. Its my 1st smartphone and i probably won't upgrade for a few years. It gets service packs every once in a while through google play store so its pretty easy to update, and lets the manufacture give out service packs more frequently.

I've got the S5, go get it!

Sisters partner has the Note and the only thing I see going for it is the size for gaming/youtube videos. But it's too big, that's why it's a phablet.

I'd go for the Note 3 personally.

Touchwiz is personal preference it's not an outright reason to avoid Samsung devices. After coming from Symbian it's still going to be a big upgrade.

True, but when put up to devices with near vanilla Android, TouchWiz is more sluggish and less optimised, especially as more updates come out.

I'm not a huge Samsung fan tbh. Even without the bloatware I usually found that the quality wasn't all tha. Especially on the somewhat cheaper phones but still, a €500 phone with a cheap plastic back cover doesn't exactly scream quality.

What about the HTC One M8, Nexus 5 or even LG G2/G3? It's also worth a look if Oppo ships the Find 7a to Africa.

For phone reviews I recommend you check out MKBHD on YouTube.

All you have to do is hold your finger on an app icon then drag it up to uninstall, five minute job for the bloatware.

As for the plastic case, you'd be better getting the official S View case, solid leather with a plastic clear square so you can use the camera, view pics, see notifications etc without unlocking it. I LOVE mine.

Where are you getting your phone from and what is your budget? Also I'd read up about the smart watch crap quite a bit as it seems to be very gimmick-y.

Aye, I sold my Sony Smartwatch, wasn't necessary. The new Samsung one is probably better but not much you can do on a display that small.

I was watching a Linus/Austin collab video once and Linus couldn't check what time it was cause his watch ran out of battery. That's when I knew I wouldn't want one :p

I also wouldn't really suggest OP to get a Smartwatch but if that's really what he wants then... fair enough I guess.

@OP: Does the phone have to be an Android?

I also noticed when I was using it when I had an Xperia Z it drained the battery a lot quicker, you're talking phone not been used at all for eight hours but using 40% battery as opposed to 10-12% without using the watch at all.

Size isn't a problem.. The Note has a nice trick where you can make the screen smaller for one hand operation

The Note 3 and watch is easy to use imo and like I said the watch voice control is amazing because you can use your phone without touching it

Dude, watch the multi posts. Seriously, 5 in a row? We have a multi-quote

button for that you know.

Well, we can keep suggesting phones but if none of them are available to you then it's of no use. Can you maybe tell us which phones are available, or send a link to where you're getting it from.

If you don't care much about tweaking software or games, a Windows Phone 8.1 device would probably serve you well.

Seems like you're pretty set on that Note 3 though?

Sorry lol been here for long but never used that.
Back to the point. There's a difference between not knowing, and not caring. I put on my nokia multiply softwares and custom firmwares and on the blackberry's i've fixed.
I will never buy a windows phone.
I feel nokia downgraded after the Nokia N8 and E7.

link for phones available.

(Thank you for fixing it won't happen again I hope)

They have the HTC One M8. Check out some reviews and let me know what you think?

Build quality wise it's probably the best out there at the moment (speaking strictly about Android phones). The Sense UI is pretty nice as well.

Well i can say to you that nokia "upgraded" when going to windows phone OS. windows phone os is a completly diffrent OS to windows mobile.

Windows phone OS is by far the most stable, and responsive OS. The app store on windows phone OS is monitored and spam is not allowed, The applications have to pass cerification before going to the store (i know because ive developed apps for it before. On android app store, there are a lot of apps with spam ads etc, and no cerification is required

Here is my proof of just how much microsoft cares about their windows phone app store. As you can see, they have tested my app on multiple devices checking for bugs before the app was released. They tested my app and found that on certain theme my some of my apps text wasn't visible, and what i had to do to fix it. This just shows how much microsoft cares about good quality apps
