Notable differences between MSI Z77 boards

So I need helping finding significant differences between
MSI Z77A-G45

okay I see the 55 supports higher RAM frequencies


Also why is the 55 called GD-55 and the other called G-45? What does the D mean?

The GD55 also got more internal USB 3.0 connections and offer a super charge port for charging your iPad, iPhone, smartphone faster. Other then that I don't think the 45 model got start/restart button on the board itself.

Would my case need to have a supercharge port on the front then? (because it doesn't) or how does it work/what do I need to make it work?

Go with the g45

go with the G45, basically the super charge port is a USB running at higher voltage. I had it on my gigabit MB but it managed to kill some phone batteries so i never use them any more
