Not gettin 5.1

I downloaded the new sound drivers from realtek for the onboard card i have because it thought this would give me full 5.1. So in CS:S i select 5.1 and it automatically flips back to 2 speaker. And in other games too im not getting 5.1 i have tried movies yet. Also in the realtek driver hd control panel when i click on the rear speakers no sound comes out unless its on 'music' modem and sometimes on 6 Channel direct.

Can anyone help?

Got it working forgot to update, changed the drivers a few times and it sorted itself out..
