Noobie - looking for some water cooling advise

Hey guys,

Before I begin here is my current setup,

CASE: Cosmos 2
CPU: i5 2500K
GPU: Radeon 6950 2gb
BUDGET: $300

I've recently been looking into watercooling my setup with the hopes to overclock my cpu to 4-4.5ghz. I'd also like to add my GPU into the loop (planning on added a second gpu to the loop later down the road).

My plan has been to get an XSPC RX240 kit w/ an additional RS360 radiator however, after doing more research I've found that running multiple radiators on a single loop with this specific kit is not recommended. I've been looking into custom builds and it seems the D5 vario pump is best for running a large loop with multiple radiators. Having said this,

1) What would you guys recommend I get?
2) What pumps should I look for that are capable of accomplishing what I want?
3) Is the XSPC D5 kit capable of supporting multiple radiators?

I'd like to get this right the first time around rather than having to spend more of my hard earned dollars in the future.

you are going to have to buy used parts for a CPU/GPU loop.. the GPU block
is $75-100. leaves you with $200.. and thats the EX360D5 kit.. budget used
up.

the 750 can do a dual radiator, but thats not what is was meant to do. eventually
an upgrade to either the mpc355 or 35x pump or D5.

you'd best start with a CPU loop on the 360 ran.. and save towards the GPU
addition.

have you seen Toms CKC build?

Yes, the $300 budget was just to get me started for a general CPU loop. I was planning on saving up more $ to eventually be able to loop 2 GPU's. I just didn't want to commit to an XSPC RX240 kit if that I would have to replace later down the road. I would like to be able to get a platform that's going to be versatile and enable me to expand upon it.

The D5 ist the strongest pump on the market, you won't have any performance problems, but in my oppinion a Laing DDC-T or DDC with a good top (for example the phobya messing top) would be enough for your system.

Watch out not to get the plus version, because there are some temperature issues inside the pump.

Phobya products are absolute garbage, dont put that anywhere near your rig.

Really? Proof?
Especially as Bundy rates the Koolance metal DDC top as the quietest.

Phobya are budget garbage.
The Phobya splitter that blew 2 of my controllers and started a small fire, thats all the proof i need.

I know Bundy very well Andreas is a really nice guy, who often recommends the Phobya top as well.

 What are tops and what purpose do they serve?

Would you guys mind piecing together a quick build so I can get some idea of what it's going to cost?

Would this kit be able to support multiple rads with ease?

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...Y.html?tl=g30c321s1310&id=osGIS5UA&mv_pc=1614

yes it would, but monster overkill..
with the rad being 40mm thick. you will only use the roof fans as ventilation (pull).
Tom used one D5 on 3 rads and was purely satified with the performance. the
2nd would be mainly bling and redundancy. the EX360 kit would be a better
start and less costly, like CPMFW suggested.

B Negative has his opinion and we all have our. Phoyba makes solid stuff. I havent had any issues with any of my Phobya gear. Obviously he has so lets not thread crap here and post whats asked please.

to the OP yeah as said overkill but a good starting point for expansion. Check performance pc's as well if your in the U.S.A. as I have found them to be cheaper on alot of stuff
