Noise levels - GTX vs GT

Does anyone know what the comparitive noise levels of these cards are?

I've a bog standard oem GTX and a Zalman cooled GT.

I'm deciding between the two and veering towards the GTX.

I presume the zalamn cooler will be quieter but it blows heat back into the case, so that may lead to noisier fans elsewhere (tho' I'll probably go with a p182 case)

I prefer the GTX cooling arrangement, expelling hot air out of the back (you'll notice I avoided any double entendres there).

Are GTX fans very audible?

There's rarely much info on actual and subjective noise levels in reviews.

If you have both keep the GTX.

The GT was very loud when the fan kicked in on the stock cooler, but yours has a zalman on so that will be quiet.

The GTX stock cooler is quiet.

It's a zalman vf1000 double height cooler - apparently it doesn't get noisy, even when pushed - 24dBa max.

But I reckon pumping hot air back into the case could have a knock-on effect, speeding up other fans.

Maybe in a well ventilated case it won't matter.

This is a Frame per second VS Decibels.

And for me FPS kicks DB out of the water. The GTX as Mr Smith said is quiet and will beat the GT in benchmarks, easy.

GTX all the way. :)

Thanks.

I'm not too bothered about it when I'm gaming but I'll be doing audio work.

When I'm doing audio work the GTX will be idling, so I guess the question should be;

GTX at idle vs Zalman VF1000 cooler - which is likely to be quieter, or in a decent case will it not matter (ie be indiscernible)

Thanks Kempez - whisper quiet should be good enough for me - I'll be having a live mic' in the same room for recording but want a good bit of oomph for gaming.
