Noctua NH14 vs Corsair H70

Sorry this is sort of in both air and h2o, but i figured more so air since im not putting a real rad and loop in my system yet.

Title pretty much says it all. I am trying to figure out which will be my best option for cooling my 2500k. I have a mini atx case which the noctua will fit in but it will be extremely tight. How does the H70s performance compare to the Goliath noctua? Also I have been reading and it seems people are saying the H70 works better intaking into the case then pushing out, is this confirmed?

for cooling in your rig I'd say the NH-D14 but for looks in your rig and not alot of difference depending on how far you push your overclock I'd say the H70. I have the H50 and 2 xigmatek 1500rpm fan in push pull inside my PC-K62 and I think it looks epic.

I am not going to be folding with this rig at all. Just may be a nice little over clock to 4.0-4.3 ghz nothing above that. Howw do the H50, H60, and H70 stack up against other none loop systems? ig. Scythe Mugen, Noctua NH14, Silver Arrow, etc.

I have a H70 and I am satisfied. But when I saw a NH-D14 operation I stayed pretty shocked.

It is able to cool better while being totally silent that the H70 can not do.

I can only advise you the reading tests and video of OC3D . They will definitely help you make your opinion and help you in your choice. These are anyway two very good coolers.

The biggest problem is my rather small case Lian Li mini atx tower the A05N. I love it because its portable but fits a lot more then your standard micro atx case.

I have measured and the NH-D14 (sorry messed up the name earlier) will fit, but I am worried that it will restrict air flow. I modded my case so that I could add water cooling in the future. Drilled two 120mm blow holes in top that will accommodate a duel rad and then drilled three holes in the bottom for intake very similar to that of the silverstone Raven or Fortress but 1 of these is used for the psu (I flipped it upside down for intake so that I didnt add more variables to my systems temps, it pulls air in and shoots it right out

I am just finishing up my build and do not have the funds to put my rig under water so I am going to buy a decent cooler for now (preferably silent?) and wait till I can do H2o the right way.

Are there any more decent coolers available that will provide decent temps as well as the oc I mentioned (only around 4.0 ghz or so) The biggest thing for me is noise, hence the 6 120mm gentle typhoon fans installed.

H60 should be fine as long as you don't clock the CPU too high.

I would get the D14 anyway though. It is cheaper than the H70 and cools better. You can also tell your friends you have a 3lb heatsink.
