Noctua NH-C12P - plastic cover under the heatsink?

Salutations!

I just bought myself a Noctua NH-C12P cooling system.

As stated in the manual on page 1 (also found here:

ww|---- cannotposturlsyet--- |w.noctua.at/pdf/manuals/noctua_nh_c12p_manual_en.pdf) I am trying to remove something that LOOKS like a plastic cover underneath the heatsink.

shows the square with rounded corners.

It seems impossible to get off, but it really looks like plastic due to it's plastic specular shine and slightly uneven surface (like that of a holographic sticker) .

I saw this screenshot here where the bottom of the heatsink is completely even:

Granted, that last screen looks like a slightly different model as mine is not red copper colored.

Sorry having to bypass the url-prevention thing, but I had to show you.

EDIT:

Ok, got an answer in the chat.

Seems like the cover just has fallen off. I just didn't want to take any chances.

Just be glad you noticed it, I once spent about an hour trying to fit a Freezer Xtreme to my mobo, not understanding why the hell the screws wouldn't fit. I knew it had pre applied paste on it so didn't really bother to check the bottom. Felt like such a retard when I eventually looked and saw this big plastic cover there. Imagine the screws had tightened !

hehe =)

In the process I warped the aluminum bracket keeping my PCI/PCI-E cards in place. Stupid screw-less system. I'm getting some screws today and throwing out that worthless piece of **** bracket.
