No Name - Just My Rig

yeah I just checked, that mobo only has 1 8-pin connector on board, can we have some pics on how everything is connected?

Checked that also, ONE side (4 pin) is fine, but the other isn't. Can you just use two CPU cables? There are two 4x 4 pin or 16pins in total, along with two CPU inputs on the PSU. Is the pic I added clear enough?

you lost me there mate :)

Try the other 4+4 pin cable then?

And no not really, we can't see the motherboard or PSU in that...

Lol there are two CPU cables (total of 16pins) but they are the same cable. Didn't include a PSU pic because it shows the layout in pic. Don't think I can upload pics from iPad can I? (laptops and cameras = meh).

are you 300% sure you're not using a pci-e power cable, i've never heard or seen of two cpu power plugs on one cable, usually pci-e cables come in pairs not cpu ones.

This.

Though GPU power cables can't be split up in 4+4 but 6+2

Positive mate. Me neither but yup, it comes as two four pins. Even has CPU on written on it.

But still, did you try both connectors on that cable? My guess it that the one on the very end of the cable is what you're looking for.

Otherwise just check the manual.

Try to switch the places of that 4+4 pin cable.

Still confused. I checked again this morning once I'd had a sleep lol but still the same. The right hand side of the cable is correct but the left doesnt match the board. Is this a common problem? Can you just buy another cable, but will it be the same? It's like they made it as a mistake but surely they didn't?

I'm fairly sure that you just have to switch the 4+4 pin cable around, as in put the left side in the right side.
Here is a pic. If you look closely you can see that the outside of the holes have two shapes, square and the other one. And so does the motherboard so you just need to match those.

I'll have a look but I'll have to cut the sleeving and whatever is in the rubber sort of sleeving round the top, since its too tight to just move them. Is it okay to do that? Just there is a hard lump in the black rubber at the top like there is something electrical underneath.

No, don't cut that, I thought it has enough room to move it.
Can you do take another pic of the CPU header so we can see the pin holes?

No it's super tight, ooo I can upload from iPad, here we go...hard for it to focus. Can you see it?

FIXED. I had another look and whilst they don't match up, some are full squares some have rounded edges right, if you line the two splitters up properly they do actually fit! Is it just a moulding issue on the plastic?

The actual copper pin are all the same on the inside if you look in the pins but the plastic on the outside is wrong compared to the board...

Got another question now though, S-ATA. My manual describes it as this:

Pin No. Definition
1 GND
2 TXP
3 TXN
4 GND
5 RXN
6 RXP
7 GND

What are the definitions?

Not happy about the S-ATA power connectors, super tight to put in and because they space between the connectors are to small I'm scared incase they rip out the connector on the SSD.

I've took some pics of my rig so I shall upload shortly, need food first and tinypic.com takes a couple of minutes for each pic to upload. :\

No, it's made like that so you can't put it in the other way around.

That just shows what does each pin do in the sata connector. You can plug it in just in one way so it doesn't matter.

Try using imgur, always found it better.
