So I was at a friends last night for a lan and the only laptop in the group decided today would be a good day to stop using the cpu fan ( I guess running at 100% for two years doesn't do them any good) so in order to play games I bodged this up using my side panel (still using my ol' enermax case at the mo') and an old but powerful case fan (note it was on a table with the fan having breathing space for the most of the night). I also removed the battery as they can put out alot of heat:
my fantastic A++ cable management in the public eye (I had to use a spare molex fan cable I have in my case to power the fan):
Now for the temperatures. It went from 70c idle for both motherboard and cpu to 40c (I know idle doesn't mean anything but I thought it'd be a good example at the time...):
Sadly I don't have any photo proof of the cpu under gaming load (intergrated graphics ftw) but it went from 90c-100c under load to 75c-85c.
