Newegg to start trading in the UK next month

Hope they do much better than best buys.

More competition can never hurt and hopefully a lot more product choice
to boot.

Sounds interesting as a new choice to buy from in the future.
Really on time Amazon gets competition in pushing down their prices, specially for buyers in Europe. Would love to see new opportunities without being robbed for high expensive deliveries and taxes. Looking forward

Could be good, as always heard Newegg were great over there. However, recently i've read more about problems with Rma's, Packing&even pricing being sometimes higher. Atm i prefer to use Amazon due to the ease of returning faulty parts (unlike some more 'famous' e-tailers)

fantastic news, can only be good for the consumers :)

The thing with amazon is, all the other companies are selling THEIR stuff on amazon, but it's all marked up because of the cut amazon takes.

Even Specialtech sell on amazon, and the prices are hugely inflated over going direct to ST.. The postage however, is usually free so you can see where the cost of that gets absorbed...

While amazon do fulfil a lot of stuff, they are such a massive hub for selling things, standard eTailers can't ignore it as a selling platform.

Hopefully it will bring the good old prices down with the added competition. I would love to buy off a few companies, but i've been burned before with Scan, so i was like... ok, i'll go ebuyer but even they have caused problems to people from scouring the net. Amazon just seems alot nicer in dealing with doa parts. So i tend to not mind cases/fans etc... but motherboards/ram/gpu's etc... from some of those companies.

Otherwise i would consider all of them really. Specialtech i bought from once before (just small things, like fans, cable management things a few years back) they were a fast and good service.

I was actually reading more into Amazons return policy, if the manufacturer had the warranty to return to retailer, rather than them. (also, i'm still checking up to see if amazon are ok, from what i've read it seems 'ok' i think...continuing to research before i spank money on some new parts! :p)

God im rambling on....

I hope it does start a price war. I'm about to build a new system for myself and I've just moved into a new home so any money I can save will go towards doing up the house :)

Great always peeves me when im quick searching for a component and see a brilliantly cheap price only for it to be Newegg or Tomshardware .At least now us in the UK can hopefully get the bargains they offer in the states.
